This is even more interesting as Ebay, their parent company, has come out in support of a US ban in online gambling. Maybe they felt obligated to do so after all the trouble Paypal got into with the state of New York (I believe it was them). I already have a betfair account so went there to find that they do indeed accept payments by Paypal as can be seen here;
