Are these checks you guys have been receiving bank issued? Or personal / or a company?

If I'm to cash a non bank issued check here in Sweden my bank is going to charge me close to $100 for it (it's such a robbery).

Good to see the new management has done the right thing. May take a long time, if ever, to build up a solid reputation given the now well-known underhanded actions of their predecessors. Paying back cheated customers is an important first step though...

On saturday 26th of august I received my final check from Powerplayer. All 2174$ have now been paid out by check. First I only received a check for 1117$ but I wrote the new owner Jack G. and he quickly sent me the missing money.

Thanks to the new owner of Powerplayer for cleaning up the mess left by the previous people in charge, and thanks to all whores who supported me and others in getting our money back.

I was always amazed at the points you racked up on the leader board thing. Also, if memory serves, we had a geographic proximity (before I moved to Changoistan).
Thanks for the kind words.

I played amazing hours to get that many points. I started out playing $2/$4 originally and probably did 50 hours/week (four tabling) the first time I won the leader board. After I saw how many points people were getting at $5/$10, I moved up and got the points a bit easier. I often still played 40 hours in a week four tabling. I figured if I played every available moment (in addition to my job), I could get a maximum of about 60,000 points per month. Fortunately, I never needed more than about half of that to win.

I'll miss the leader board contest. It was a good idea for a promotion to encourage an insane amount of play. They still made a healthy profit on me due to the extreme amount of rake I was paying. When O...

I received an answer, not from Powerplayer support, but from some guy named Jack at tritech.org. They must be handling the money issue I guess.

He wrote that I will receive a check for 1000$ in the mail. That's a start, but 2000$ was missing from my account and I had 174$ left when it was blocked. I will write him back to hear what will happen to the rest of my money. My account is still blocked.

I also got this explanation in another email:

As of June 16th, PowerPlayer.com is under new ownership. We are working on resolving all outstanding user issues as soon as is possible and ensuring that no new issues interfere with our players' gaming experience.

One of the first things we noticed upon taking possession is the inability of players to sit at real-money tables or tournaments—they are told either that they need to upgrade to a real-money account or deposit funds into their account, and they usually have done both. We are working with Ongame Networks to resolve ...

Any more news from PowerPlayer? Has anyone else heard from them? Had anything returned? More promises?

How did you do?
I've got a long version if anyone is truly interested. Short version is I built up to about 2K in chips (started with 1.5K) and bluffed off my whole stack to Gavin Smith an hour and a half into the event. Final board was K 7 4 J 4. Gavin takes it down with J 8 off-suit after I check-raised the flop, bet the turn, and moved in on the river. Impressive calls by Gavin. I've got to give him credit for his read as tight as I was playing (up u...

LMAO! What do you play, at the $.05/.10 tables?

I had over $26,000 on there before I cashed out for the first time and thought nothing of it. And I assure you I don't keep the majority of my working capital at any one site.

Can't imagine any game on the Ongame network that would warrant a $26K bankroll. Maybe $50/$100 limit, but I don't see games that high very often at Ongame.

A few folks have reported losing $6K or less. Most of the others report $2K or less missing. I haven't seen anyone claiming a loss near $26K. I stand by my hunch that $30K would cover most of their players.

I think all the skins are owned by different groups. The problem is that Futurebet is willing to provide a cashier service even for skins that aren't financially solid. So some skins like FCP are still fine even though they use Futurebet, while others might be shady. Since Futurebet is willing to work for any skin no questions asked, you just can't be sure. That's what the problem is.

Thank you. Really helped me understand.

If you really are paying people, why no Neteller? I really don't want a check, since I'm in a country where it costs quite alot to cash it since it's in a foreign currency (can be up to $100 depending on the bank that issued it).

Also, if you just fix everything back to normal, I feel that I can hold off cashout and continue on my $1000 10x bonus. But this needs to happen soon.

When they were slow on the first few cashout requests, I hounded them several times a day til they took care of it. I got my money out as fast as I could and never looked back.

futurebet is a casino group I believe. They have their own casino software but use the ongame poker software. Futurebet apparently handles most/all? of the financial transaction for their group of skins (couple dozen or so I think, and most are very small). This is where the backlogs occur. Though full contact poker is a futurebet skin and transactions haven't been a problem so I don't know what the full story is.

Not sure if I would call it a scam. At least not yet.

Has ANYONE owed money in this thread been paid yet?

If not, I find it hard to believe that they paid out $30,000 and didn't pay anyone in this thread. PowerPlayer was a smallish site. I would suspect that $30,000 would cover most (if not all) of their players. Just a hunch. It is cheap to make a post claiming lots of payouts have been made (with more to continue). Doing so and then dropping out of sight doesn't inspire confidence. Nonetheless, this is still our best hope.

I haven't seen anything. The new owner didn't answer any of my e-mails. He seems to have disappeared after one post claiming to have paid out $30,000 last week.

I talked to old owner last Monday. He seemed more concerned about negative comments made by me about him in this thread (???) than my $5,011. For the hundredth time, he promised me my money within a day or two. He claimed to have talked to new owner and that I was one of the next ones to be paid.

I'm off to Las Vegas in a couple of days (one of the ChecknRaise $1,000 WSOP seats that Poker.com is paying for!). Hopefully we'll see something positive before I get back.

Fast cashout times and a 5x bonus at ongame go a long way to making me feel happy about a site. And if they want to heal the ill will, I'm talking I want my money in neteller in 4-6 hours from when I hit the withdraw button.

As the new owners of powerplayer we would like an opportunity to explain, as we are reading some very bad but true things on the boards.

New owners: TTIS (IOM)

Let’s start from the beginning

TTIS was handed over powerplayer on June 16. . When we completed our transaction we did not know that the contract with Ongame network was terminated, and we were never told. We have tried very hard to have http://www.ongamenetwork.com/partners/ And www.real.ca that was managing and handling all the money transactions to pay all the players and turn the software back on for real money. Ongame is being very difficult, they won’t return our calls or even respond to an E-mail and forces us to take legal action .At this point we have been paying everyone, Just in the first week we payed out over $30,000.00 please read some of the other boards. It has only been one week since we have had this site and we are doing our best.
We understand everyone’s frustration as we are also very f...
