. Inter is their in house product, they wont be going anywhere.

Inter is owned by OIGE. Is OIGE owned by Crypto?

totally disagree, it was the joining of Betfair that initiated the start of the horrible tight arse tables that saw me stop playing there.

Betfair isnt a sportsbook, it is a betting exchange, where all the smart punters go, and I'd be surprised if them leaving doesnt loosen the site.

I was also under the impression that they made up much more of the network than 20%.

If you look at the numbers for the last month there was a huge drop when Betfair left, but last week saw this spike straight back up, the new Betfair software has been roundly slated and it looks like many of their players have reverted back to crypto on another skin, most likely Hills or Littlewoods.

Ritz was very good, in my experience. The hourly bonus, which they unfortunately discontinued this spring, was very good of course. And the £250 bonus they had in august and september was pretty good as well. Especially when you take into consideration their high value weekly tournament. Even in the end when it got more popular it had a value of £25, but this summer with as little as 35 entrants the overlay was as high as £70 per player. And that's for just 250 MPPs!

I've probably made more from Ritz than any other poker site -- the weekly tournament alone made me £1750.

Now their bonus is crap, and I don't see the return of the weekly tournament either.

It's about choice and traffic for me. Betfair and Ritz were never good to us bonus whores and from a personal point of view their departure from the crypto network is incidental. I look forward to the introduction of betsafe, any news yet on bonuses or bonus requirements or dates for the migration? With inter, W Hill, Sun, Plex and the others the site is strong and the traffic is good. I can play at any level at almost any time of the day. For me the tourney side of the business is light on traffic and could stand some development/promotion at the $5/$10 level. The biggest change for me is inter relaxing the bonus rules back to previous levels and the $100 bonus is now about 1200 hands again and i am back playing (although i did lose $108 to get the $100 bonus lol). I think with good bonuses and good communication/information the cryptos will be fine.

Betfair leaving is no doubt a big hit for Crypto. Not only is it more than 20% of the traffic, Betfair probably has a larger percentage of fish in their player pool as is typical for sportsbooks. Crypto games have gotten tougher lately, and this will not help matters.

Picking up Betsafe is good news, but won't make up for the loss of Betfair.

Well, Betfair announced long ago that they were leaving Crypto, and most of you have heard by now that it'll be end of this month:

http://www.cryptologic.com/investor/2006/sep1_2006.html

Ritz Club is also leaving around the same time:

http://www.cryptologic.com/investor/2006/may5_2006.html

I've seen analysis elsewhere that indicates this will be around 20% of their post-UIGEA traffic.

Still no word on Sun Poker. Crypto has a long-term deal with InterPoker, but InterPoker was marketing heavily to the U.S. prior to the ban, and I'm curious if they're making an effort to get out or not. They've been totally silent, AFAIK.

It's not all doom and gloom, though. They have a decent amount of players at the moment, and they've announced they're picking up Betsafe. Anyone have any idea why Betsafe isn't going to Tribeca with the rest of the Tain skins?
