So this isn't totally off-topic, a hearty "FUCK YOU POKERROOM" from sunny Changoistan too.

Well, I'm not intelligent enough to be a programmer. But I have been a techgeek and a manager in the Information Technology business since long before IT became an acronym. And that "software glitch" statement is the biggest laugh that I've had since receiving pretty much the same bullshit from one of my former business customers for whom I personally maintained and managed the computer equipment. The former customer had not paid me for more than 3 months; and my repeated inquiries received the same lame excuses, e.g. "The check's in the mail," or "We only cut checks once ...

Looking back at the response we have had since running the Christmas Tournament, we felt it was necessary to provide our players with a resolution and an explanation to the situation we have encountered.

On December 16th, PokerRoom.com held a tournament advertising a flat screen HDTV valued at $2,000 and other prizes including PokerRoom.com merchandise. All promotional information given out to players stated the above information; players were able to view this in the promo section, through e-mails, and on the registration page.

Surely we would have mentioned it in our marketing if we had planned for the tourney to have a $19,000 added cash bonus? If we deliberately wanted to "lure" people in with that cash, as some posters have suggested, shouldn't we at least have mentioned that sum in our ads?

PokerRoom always sucked. It was obvious they never cared about the players, or they would have long ago fixed the myriad of problems they had with their software that made playing there such a frustrating experience. It wasn't like they couldn't have afforded it. Oh, and the highest rake on the net for the privilege of playing on such crappy software. Oh, and support? - what's that?

Im really curious if it did mention the 19K anyelse still got the email from around 20th December?

19K/$20 = 950 players less rake 863players. Thats not even a huge tournament for pokerroom. Yes if they 'accidently' made it 250K, that would be crazy.

Someone find that email im 90% sure it said 19K

Its like they committed grand larceny got caught and just give it back 'sorry' i didnt mean to steal your car strip it for parts and sell em on ebay but heres your money back.

I looked through my email, I never delete anything. The only thing I received around that time was Dec 15 and it mentions the HDTV tournament. Here is what the little block of text from the email says:

Christmas is a time for giving, and we are giving away the best gifts this holi...

Be sure to read on in the post as well. The founder should have refrained from sharing any of his personal feelings. Just apologize sincerely and admit you majorly messed up.

He basically [in the original post and further replies] makes judgements on customers/potential customers for their reactions/speculations/opinions to the whole matter.

Bad idea Oskar.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to let you know that PokerRoom has decided to repay the players that had their poker winnings taken away in the Christmas Tourney. Here is an email from Oskar Hornell, the founder of PokerRoom.

Good read, PokerRoom can stick it up their ass. I am glad I never got around to signing up and playing there. Being from the US I never will either.
I will always have fond memories of PokerRoom and Ongame. When I started playing online my freshman Christmas (3 years ago now), I deposited $100 at PR and lost the my (huge ) bankroll playing .25/.50 limit without reading more than the preflop chart in WLLH. Then, I read the rest of the book and a few more, deposited another $100, started posting on 2+2, and lurking at BW. From there, I never looked back. PokerRoom was my first ever online poker experience and whore. I'll always remember that first shot at making money online, at home, and doing something I love.

I moved onto the other biggies and whored, but ONGAME was always my home for bonus...

That's just ridiculous. The great bonuses and bad players make Ongame my #1 poker network, but lately they have been doing a lot of very bad mistakes with their tourneys... I'm glad I'm a cash game player because fortunately their ring games don't have these kind of problems.

Bonuswhores should look at removing them from your site. I predict they will be out of business shortly.
