I play limit holdem, normally only during Aces Never Lose (Wed-Sat 1pm -1am est). I usually find 1 to 2 full ring tables at .50/1, 1/2, and 2/4 and 2 tables or so at those same limits of 6max. It's no problem to find 4 tables by mixing it up. I don't play NL, but taking a quick look at the NL tables the other day, I don't see as much action or large pots. Based o... | | Read Entire Entry |

That's good enough for me.
So, Gonzo, which sites are you playing now?
Personally, I am clearing some stacked reloads at Poker Stars and loving the games, but will need someplace else to go soon.
I'm actually bouncing around quite a bit. I have played Poker Stars, AP, Bodog, Poker.com, UB, and Cake Poker all in the last week, mostly just jumping in where I see the best games. | | Static Link |

There's a WPEX hand grabber, worth if you plan on staying there, programmer says that if WPEX keep changing its hhs format he will update the the softy in a week or your money back, sounds good... | | Static Link |

| Posted by: SlimJim at March 4, 2007, 4:01 pm | | Topic: WPEX Rocks Forum: Bonus Whores | I see WPEX works with Poker Tracker but it does not record observed hands. I'm not sure what sites I will do next. About half of my bankroll is tied up in sites that are having trouble processing US withdrawals. 100% rakeback at WPEX looks good on paper but if the game selection is poor and if there isnt many fish it might not be that great for me.
I put $350 on UB last week. As I understand it, I have to earn 2000 UB points in one week it order to trade them in at 7.5 cents per point. That would be tough to do multi tabling 50NL. Also the $350 sign up bonus will take a long time to clear at about $4-5 per hour. I dont really mind if it takes a while but I miss the old Eurolinx 4x fpps bonuses and the Poker4Ever 7x pps bonus. I think those were about %100 rakeback. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: Gonzo787 at March 4, 2007, 2:33 pm | | Topic: WPEX Rocks Forum: Bonus Whores | There is a good and bad about Wpex right now IMO.
Good: Wpex is likely to stick by American players to the bitter end. Their founder, Jay Cohen, spent 18 months in an American prison (for the sportsbetting side of their business) and they STILL accept Americans.
Bad: The rakeback there is great, but recently I've found their games to be some of the tighest on the internet (not surprisingly since most "fish" don't really care about rake or rakeback) and the game selection sucks.

| Posted by: redrocks at March 4, 2007, 11:57 am | | Topic: WPEX Rocks Forum: Bonus Whores | It's about $4-5/hr FR and $5-6 6max. The hands at WPEX are dealt pretty fast which helps. If you're at a slow table your rate will go down. The rates for 2/4+ are significantly higher. WPEX has a rakeback calculator on their homepage. Use it and subtract a buck or two to be conservative.
I think the players at WPEX are overrated. I played there several months ago, before Neteller and most of the sites left the US. Back then I thought it was too much of a rock garden. I only played a couple of times and left. I think it's gotten easier since. A lot of aggresive players, but of varying skill. There's a lot of bluffing, be aware and capitalize on this. Now and then you run into some genuine donk. The better players are going to be playing higher limits for obvious reasons (rakeback at 10/20 is like $35+/hr). I don't play NL so I can't comment on that. Table selection is key. In the US afternoons I'm also noticing more Europeans. Apparently, WPEX is marketing to select countries.

I don't know why, but I'm always amazed when I see the "bonus" (ie, rakeback) I just cleared. 1/2 limit clears at about $5/hr. That's $15/hr for playing three tables of low limit poker just by breaking even. Maybe I got lucky, but there was a lot of donkish play going on as well.

| Posted by: Hazel1111 at March 2, 2007, 4:18 pm | | Topic: WPEX Rocks Forum: Bonus Whores | I tried playing there last year over the summer and found the games to be extremely difficult. The overall aggression was ratcheted so high that I found it difficult to beat the game, with wild variance to boot. For some perspective, I'm regularly able to beat the 2/4 and 3/6 games at Bodog and Ultimate Bet, and I was quite successful at Absolute last year at those stakes when they still had enough bonus to keep me, but at WPEX I found 2/4 and especially 3/6 to be very very tough.
One possibility is that I just needed to tighten up much more. Almost every hand seemed to be a fight for the blinds, with 1 raiser and 1 defender, or 1 raiser and 1 reraiser. From there, any bet by a non-raiser was pretty much automatically raised, often on the turn too. You never knew until the river if your hand was any good. I play somewhere around 20-22% of normal pots, so it's not like I'm loose, and I'm usually pretty aggressive, but this site made me feel like I had to button down completely and only play big ha... | | Read Entire Entry |
