So if you win a freeroll into Step 2, $55+$5 or whatever it is, that money comes out of the prize pool from Step 1. So the $60 comes out of the Step 1 prize pool, with $55 going to pay your buy-in into Step 2 and the $5 going into Party Poker's coffers.
So Party spreads the freerolls out as far as they can to keep as many people playing as possible in these things without busting out. Because every time you get a free replay, Party Poker still gets the entry fee even though you don't have to actually pay it out of your account again.

It does. My point is that many players are basically running in place while Party pockets the juice each SNG.
They awarded me a replay of Step 1 for finishing 5th, otherwise I would have been done. Maybe I'd play one again, maybe not. By not paying all the money to the top 2, Party has assured themselves a steady stream of players for these Steps.
IMO, the only thing a 5th place finisher in a 10 player SNG should get is a 'thanks for playing'. | | Static Link |

Yes, including 10% off the top of both the Bad Beat Jackpot and the new High Hand Jackpot tables.

I just finished my 11th Step 1 this morning winning for the 3rd time. All the other times I finished in the top 5 so I got a replay for free. I also finished in the top 5 in the Step 2's for replays on Step 1.
Bottom line, I have played 13 SNGs and paid $21 in rake for my $12 in probably 6 hours of play. The payout structure is very shrewd on Party's part in that I could play these forever without ever getting anywhere.
