Hi there,

I just wanted to let you know that the Fortune Lounge group, of which Royal Vegas Poker is a part, donated $10 000 to the Red Cross for the Hurrican Katrina relief effort.

Thanks
Tania

Skimmed through the Interpoker newsletter, and I believe they were matching the sum of all buyins for their relief tourney. Also no fee was taken. And they apparently have some other promos going in the casino side as well, adding up to $10k more.

I am no Interpoker fan, but helping out is helping out, and they should get credit for it.

I just checked out the Pokerstars one and the Bugsyclub tourneys. All of the Pokerstars relief tourneys buyins matched by the site, and only 1 penny is removed from the buy-in. Bugsy club did not remove any money, but it is only a $15 buy in, they are adding $2500 to donations though, and putting up their own money for the prize poll.

I do not plan on playing these tourney, but I will sign up for at least the Poker Stars $100 one. It is great to see these sites matching money for the victims of Katrina. As usual, poker stars is a class act.

As usual Royal Vegas Poker Thanks for nothing. I will play the tourneys that match funds as it will do twice as much for the Hurricane relief effort. Where your tourney donates nothing, instead you so graciously donate half of the players money and decide not to take your $2 fee out of it since it would make you look like the greedy offshore casino that you are.

Thanks but no thanks I can donate my dollars without you taking all the glory.

Tania I highly recommend you talk to some higher up at Royal Vegas Poker and ask them to match funds as your Poker Room is looking worse by the minute. Do something special... donating others money does not qualify.

Hi Colorado and other Bonus Whores,

We have not denied a request for a private tournament, I redirected you to the correct person to contact, which is Brad W at Fortune Affiliates.

Royal Vegas Poker decided to hold a tournament so that players could make a contribution and play poker and enjoy themselves at the same time.

We, as a company do make contributions for causes such as these. These are usually done in a separate capacity.

Thanks
Tania

Instead of playing this tourney, I suggest playing in either the Party one on Wed or PokerRoom one on Sat or Sun. Both sites will match the buy-in $ per $ to donate to charity. For party, 90% of the prize pool will also be donated while players have an option to donate part or all of their winning for PokerRoom.

I heard Lou Krieger will be playing and putting a $100 bounty on his own head to go to the American Red Cross.

Good deal for them.. they get favorable press for making a big donation, even though all the money comes directly from the players. They give up a $2 tournament fee, but that's pretty trivial..

They should have done a 25+0 where all the money went to the charity, and then they donate the tournament prizes (as in a freeroll)

Wheres the resident BW Satyr when you need him?

When PokerStars did the matching thing for the Tsunami I put my money in there because it could do twice as much good.

If the only contribution by the Poker Room is eating the entry fee I am not impressed.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you all know that we are running a tournament to aid survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

The Hold'em No Limit Freezeout tournament is running on Tuesday September 6th @ 9pm EST on Royal Vegas Poker and 7 Sultans Poker.

Buy-in is $25+$0 (i.e. we are not taking any fees). 50% of prize pool goes to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, the other 50% will go the top 20 finishers, based on a percentage prize pool.

This tournament can be found under the Multi Table Tournaments section, under Special.

Thanks,
