All the money is going to a single person sitting in front of a contol board pressing the "Rerun" button every week. I heard he's getting carpal tunnel from the repetition.
EDIT
Or maybe it's all being spent as hush money to cover up the secret steamy love affair between Tuan Le and Habib. Did you see those 2 at the WPT Championship? I thought they were gonna start French kissing. | | Static Link |

They have production costs, but those aren't going to be excessive. I can't image the commenators get paid enough to break their bank. Surely the travel channel has a long term contract to pay for the shows. I am not sure about Travel channel's ratings for WPT, but compaired to reruns of "famous houses of the South" you would think poker would be good. ESPN still gets better ratings from WSOP than basketball, baseball, hockey etc. - - - so you would think the travel channel is doing fine. So, where is the money going? | | Static Link |

And having the WPT play rerun after rerun after rerun... can't be helping the TV audience much either.
$2.1 million loss last quarter for the WPT. Guess the novelty is wearing off.

And having the WPT play rerun after rerun after rerun... can't be helping the TV audience much either. Playing a rerun of a tourney once is ok, I guess, but I swear they've run some of these shows 10 times already. That is not how you build an audience. It's boring as hell. | | Static Link |
