They are all rebuy tournies. There could be some huge overlays during Wednesdays tournies, especially the early morning ones. If you are looking for value you might want to keep an eye on them. Especially the 20 buck 7500 guaranteed, which now goes to 15,000. I'd be surprised if it isn't at least a 5000 overlay. We will see. The MTT's on prima have got to be the softest anywhere, in case you didn't know. | | Static Link |

I agree in a way with you gonzo, I did debate weather to start a discussion on this aspect of pro player promotional MTT's. I've never seen it discussed much in detail. I do believe it's a positive way to increase your overall winnings with less or no risk. It's something many players overlook or shy away from. Most do take advantage of no qualifying free rolls, but overlook MTT's with huge overlays, or qualifying types of MTT's.
I do believe it's something that should be pursued on an individual basis. If you were ever a young golfer who combed the woods for hours looking for others lost golf balls you know what I mean. When you find one it's like free money in your pocket. It's a good feeling. Finding super positive EV MTT's is kind of like that. | | Static Link |

About a month ago Intertops had a WSOP Guaranteed tournament that gave first place a seat. The buy in was $100 and only 40 or so signed up making it a huge deal. Now if I posted that here and over at 2+2 the thing would fill to 100 seats in no time flat. Seems like with some tournaments you just have to keep it to yourself if you want a chance."

I just saw the thread where it says it takes 2 steps to get the money back into your Neteller account. You gotta throw it to the sportsbook portion of Intertops first. I knew I saw it somewhere!

After all of this, I worked myself into a frenzy by watching porn and ran full speed into a brick wall repeatedly. Sure my helmet is a little swollen and oozing something that normally doesnt ooze outta there but hey fun is fun.

| Posted by: elric at May 18, 2004, 12:27 am | | Topic: Bonuses are great, but the BIG money is in PROMOS Forum: Bonus Whores | | For some reason Party / Empire / Intertops has adopted the 2 + 2 = Null function which has the evil cashier at these sites laughing as we clicked it over & over & over again only to find out we have deposited 2 - 4x the amount of money that we intended on depositing. Some of us just kept clicking it until they had our entire bankroll. DOH! | | Static Link |

In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it.

| Posted by: xedubx at May 17, 2004, 6:41 pm | | Topic: Bonuses are great, but the BIG money is in PROMOS Forum: Bonus Whores | | I think I agree with jason to an extent, because I find that most promos aren't actually worth my time. I don't think you'd be getting a significant increase in competition just because you posted something about a freeroll tourney. Although some promos are quite profitable, like when Gaming Club had their Queen of hearts promo back on valentine's day, I find most are not really worth my time. I'd play a freeroll tourney and wind up playing 3 or 4 hours only to win about 10 or 20 bucks, meanwhile winning quite more than that playing cash games as my second table. Granted, there are others that are much better tourney players than me and for them, it might be more profitable, but I think for most of us, we are lot happier whoring bonuses than going after promo freerolls and I don't think you'd be impacted much if u do have good info to share. I mean, isn't that why we come here anyway? To share information and perhaps profit by it? I'm not trying to admonish anyone, just giving my .02. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: jason_algayer at May 17, 2004, 5:21 pm | | Topic: Bonuses are great, but the BIG money is in PROMOS Forum: Bonus Whores | The way i see it is this.
(1) Dont brag
(2) There are 129 members here. This is NOT 2+2 or Recpoker. If a good freeroll comes up and it is announced (as JEK does); then here is what will happen.
1/2 of the members will read it (65)
1/2 of those will be be able to actually do it (3
1/2 of those will remember to do it (19)
So, we are talking about introducing 19 friends into a tourney. What you lose it EV you will make up for in Karma.
Again, to some there are more inportant things that a few $$.
Oh well
Jason

Guac, if you weren't going to share some of the sites you are talking about then there is no need to brag about it like you did. As far as I am concerned, don't post at all next time. Everyone who has ever played a poker site know that they offer promotions. This forum is for information purposes, not for you (Guacamole) to wave your penis. If keeping the freerolls quiet means so much to you (as it apparently does) just shut up and keep your thoughts (and winnings) to yourself.
That's my opinion. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: JPMcMoney at May 17, 2004, 1:28 pm | | Topic: Bonuses are great, but the BIG money is in PROMOS Forum: Bonus Whores | Agree wholeheartedly. It's one thing to tell people about a reload bonus. It does not matter how many of us get the bonus, we all benefit the same. With the freerolls, sometimes there is a limit to the number of people that can qualify, as well as giving yourself the best chance to finish in the money. I respect guac for wanting to keep this info to himself. Hell, he didn't have to tell us about them at ALL! Doin a little homework never hurt anyone....

Now you guys not only want to have the free ride BUT by doing so you will hurt his bottom line.
Guac has told us his thoughts and opened a few eyes - I like the idea since most MTTs really do not have a clue and think MTT is the same as SnG and they are not.
I don't have a CLUE on where to look for these promos but I like the idea.
Thanks Guac for the eye opener. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: kfellmy at May 17, 2004, 12:25 pm | | Topic: Bonuses are great, but the BIG money is in PROMOS Forum: Bonus Whores | he may have had a short tourney...but he got there. Yea it sucks being on the wrong side of the boat. Been there.
To Guac-I have 72 sites loaded (poker only) on my computer. I do check in at everyone of them once a week.
And I like Prestige Poker. Slow play allows me to make more fishing lures while still playing. I'm up to 400 bucks from my initial deposit of 20 bucks plus 50 bucks grad money. Had 500 but needed to cash out to play at another site. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: Grinder at May 17, 2004, 6:26 am | | Topic: Bonuses are great, but the BIG money is in PROMOS Forum: Bonus Whores | Not sure this counts but 2 years ago PokerRoom had a promo. The 1st 300 people to get a Royal will be entered into a WSOP satellite. Winner gets a free ticket to WSOP.
AS you can imagine at Pokerroom that took a while. I got my Royal (won $18 on a 2/4 table) and waited for 2 months.
the beauty is that just because you get a Royal does not mean you are good. And of the 300 people only 100 showed up.
got to the final table but went all in on the wrong side of a boat!
The guy that beat me went to WSOP and (just like I would have) had a short tournament. | | Static Link |

Perhaps we were brought up differently...Or we just see this forum as a place of sharing...giving and taking, as opposed to just taking.
Again, there are all different types of people in the world.
Oh well, the rest of us can share I guess.

Thanks for nothing. The rest of us whores post our hidden caches of information expecting nothing in return. You decide to tell us about a mountain of gold out there and then don't want to share your treasure map with us. Doh! | | Static Link |
