What limits are you playing if you are playing limit. If you play 3/6 or higher (usually too rich for my blood) then the rake probably gets capped because of the pot size. But at .50/1 and 1/2 this isn't going to happen. Unless I'm hallucinating, a .50 chip goes up to the top of the table when it crosses $5 (10%); then another $5 is bet and a .25 chip goes there, then there is a bet and a fold because Party is swarming with folks (not that I know any of these people) that play multiple tables and don't gamble crazy. (I've actually found the 2/4 to be far looser than the .50/1 most of the time)
Pot= $11, Raked=$.75 (for example). 6.8% rake
Multiply this by 50 hands an hour and that's Capone money. I play NL occasionally, but I'm plum not very good at it so I try to stay away. Will still play there because of the bonuses though of course.

That would be nice. The Party NL rake is the same as other sites unless I missed something, but the limit rake does take a hit. I played a long session there once at the 1/2, and felt on the whole that I did fairly well, but when I looked in my account, I was down $8. I was so surprised I did the math, and indeed, at a different site's rake I would have been up $16 or so instead. Party is to date the only site out of the 13 or so I play which I still have a negative "ability balance" as of this time (hopefully I'll turn that around)... but I'm still up in real money because of the bonuses so Party On I say.

xedubx - yea - I here ya about UB - I have a $100 bonus sitting there collecting dust - why bother when it gets divied out in nickle increments playing 2/4 at 26% aggressive flops.
As for rake - It would be nice to have a list of current rakes at all the major sites. 2+2 had one but it was out of date.

Same here. I care more about win rate than bonuses. I refuse to play UB even with a bonus while I'll play intercasino or poker room without bonuses. Bonus is an additional benefit, and if I can't win there, there is no reason to play there. Heck, I'd pay double or triple the rake as long as there is a good population of fishes and the bonus clears at a fast rate.
On a side note, I get annoyed by people who get angry at bad players for chasing and hitting on them. Why would you want to clue them in on their lack of playing skill? It's their lucky streaks that makes them come back to the tables. Congratulate them and just get them the next time...

Even if those 500 raked hands are not the bizarro Prima raked hands, that bonus is worse than any Party skin bonus.
If those 500 raked hands are the bizzaro Prima raked hands, that is easily the worst bonus in the industry, which doesn't even cover the rake.

Now I can respect your decision not to play Party because of their rake hike. But if you look at the whole picture, Party and skins are giving all that back plus more in bonuses to bonus whores. The suckers that only have 1 skin do lose out, but if you have all skins and take advantage of every reload, you literally never have to play a single hand without clearing some sort of bonus. Party (and the skins) offer one of the best bonus clearance rates in the industry (minus Absolute). I was very disappointed by Party's rake increase when it happened but I have moved on. First of all, the pot isn't rakeable (just made that word up) until $5.00, and then again at $12. You can play 4 very loose tables at .50/1.00 and that mfer will take you 3 hours for a rate at $33 an hour. Not a bad rate at all-- certaintly more than I make at my real job. You don't even notice the rake because the pots are so big for each of their respective limits. For example a Party .50/1.00 pot is about the size of every other site's 1/2 pots. I wish there was a way that I could play your account and do the bonus for you. As far as the rake goes, the bonus covers any increased rake several times over. If you're playing there after the bonus clears, why? I've moved on to the next bonus.
And do full time players really play .5/1 or 1/2? When you get up to 3/6 or so, the rake at Party is the same as most anywhere else, 5% to $3. So full time players shouldn't care.
Really, their rake hike at $5 and $12.50 only hurts the casual player who isn't aware enough to bonus whore or go somewhere where the rake is less *coughParadisecough* and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it specifically to cover the cost of all these bonuses we're getting.
So the greedy bastards of the poker industry and the greedy bonus whores are taking advantage of the casual player.

What does the percentage of the bonus have to do with how good it is compared to the rake? What matters is how fast the bonus is cleared.

I played Intertops last nite, 3 tables of $25 NL for about 3 hours and I was around 400 hands. 100 hands should be cake. I think I completed the Intertops bonus in about 3 sessions of 3 hours apiece.
