I ask because if I am not generating +MGR while playing a bonus then it doesn't matter what limit I play at. The site in particular is party if that matters.

This is the way I understand it but could be wrong.

As you clear the $100 bonus you are generating +MGR. Once the $100 is released your MGR is taken down by $100. If you play at a limit large enough you will still have a +MGR, if not you will be in the negative until you play more.

And depending on your affiliate, they could apply that negative MGR to other rakeback you earn at other sites...although if they are repuatable they aren't doing much for you at party anyway

Every time you play a raked hand, you are credited with your share of the gross revenue for the hand. Say you are on a full 6-max table that rakes $0.25 - your share would be +$0.0625.

If you are clearing a bonus your share of the gross revenue will be reduced by the bonus you earned from the hand. So if the bonus is a 10 rake per dollar bonus, you would lose $0.10 from your accumulating MGR each time the hand is raked.

Combining the two for this example hand shows you had a net negative incremental MGR of $0.0375 for this one hand.

How all of this works in the real world depends on the contract between the poker room and the affiliate, which we don't have a copy of. And in the case of Party, we all know they don't generally support rakeback deals <wink> so the discussion would be irrelevant. However, a hypothetical whore who signed up for Party rakeback but only played for the bonuses would likely need to be playing 2/4 Limit or higher to create positive MGR from cl...

I'm feeling so old now that I've had to switch to Coors Light or I'm too canned to make it through a round of beer-a-hole golf. I also started trying some u-brew stuff that really sneaks up on me and destroys my common sense when I'm playing S&Gs

short negative MGR question:
i signed up at party a few days ago. if i will clear my first deposit bonus, my MGR will likely be negative. will a MGR below zero carry over to the next month?

So am I earning positive MGR at the same time? (because if not, then playing 2/4 vs 1/2 would not make a difference for MGR purposes)

The bonus deducts $100 from MGR regardless of how it was obtained. This goes for any site that deducts bonuses from MGR.

I'm asking because I'm not sure how MGR works with bonuses. For example, say you're clearing a $100 party bonus. Is the -MGR a flat -$100 or does the limit also factor in somehow?

Do you know what MGR is?

At 2/4 you generate more rake = more MGR
