Anyone else find it odd you can drink, gamble, go to brothels, and now they are voting on legalizing marijuana, but you can't gamble online. What the hell is up with Nevada??
It's really a conservative town...LOL...and I mean that seriously.
Nothing more conservative than red necks and hicks who love to drink and gamble, I've experienced my fair share growig up in Texas and living here. | | Static Link |

Yes, and citibank credit cards. The issue was settled by them not doing transactions with poker sites. This was in 1999 though.
Besides the date being important, the other issue was the places (business) resided in NY and was on the transaction side, not the poker sites.
I have no problem with them banning NY, but when people and sites claim online poker in NY is illegal, that is false. What I don't want happening is for someone to read that and assume it and base decisions off of it.
You can repeat this until the cows come home but it doesn't change the FACT that the sites and their team of attorneys that are allowing Americans but banning players from certain states do not agree with your statement. You may not agree that online poker in NY is illegal but the only thing ... | | Read Entire Entry |

I am from NY, and I can tell you that there is no NY state law banning online poker. In fact, it has been upheld in court a persons right to gamble in NY state. (Tested in courts and upheld)
What is outlawed in NY is promoting gambling, such as running underground casinos, etc.
NY has also gone on the books as stating that a business, running a legal operation in its home country does not violate NY state law, because the action is taking place in a legal jurisdiction. This is why they let the SportingBet exec go free after customes agents detained him on warrents in Louisiana. He was breaking no laws in NY.
How NY got on that list I would like to know, because it certainly is not illegal to play online poker in NY.
Don't take the prima list at face value, as it is not based on fact but fiction.

A couple of weeks ago, I started to clear the Golden Riviera bonus, they allowed me to sign up, I played for about 6 hours, and then was locked out due to the fact that I live in Nevada.
I still have not recieved my money back yet.
I have concerns with loading up on any other prima sites, beted, states they are open for business from anyone, but like I said, I am gun shy.
Any advice? Experiences?
Thx, in advance,
Cary

I would imagine that Golden Riv would have the same deal - try that. | | Static Link |
