The following article was written by Claude Levy in May of '99. I am no fan of Mr. Levy, but I can attest that this article is true, as I have erified its accuracy through more than one source:

Further Evidence of Massive Fraud Uncovered

A group of companies involved in massive fraud, using software programmed to cheat the consumer, as well as cheating amongst themselves. Deplorable practices by any standards. In striving for high standards for online gambling sites, it's high time they were shown the door. If you enjoy online gambling, read what follows carefully - and take note.

A while ago, we reported that a group of companies comprised of Funscape.com, CasinoSoft.com the game developer, Handa Lopez Inc. (HLI) acting as the e-cash company, World Wide Multimedia, and Scylinx Corporation, were involved in massive frauds when they cheated so much from their own casino operators, that twenty-nine of them decided to stop doing business with this group.

The mastermind ...

Handa-Lopez is infamous as one of the first casino softwares on the market - and one of the first scams. Handa Lopez was reputed to be the former wife of one of the owners, David Brown.

Just one tidbit before I, too, shut up on this subject:

Good on you, Steve!

It is now obvious why so many H-L powered casinos in general shy away from telling enquirers where their software comes from.

This also illustrates the depth of industry knowledge which exists on this MB. This will benefit the OPA and make it a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Grand Dominican surprises me, though.

Original post by Dave R.
The ADMIN of www.casinoranking.com (Antoine) recently tested www.playbigcasino.com (owned by Grand Dominican) and found that the payouts are slow and the server is rigged.
He received 15 consecutive losses in blackjack before calling it quits. (NO wins in between)
His message was posted on 1/22/00 at www.winneronline.com.

Playbig Casino is a theme based casino only, and all actual betting takes place on the Grand Dominican server. The owner is: Technologia JPR, S.A. and uses software developed by HANDA-LOPEZ. This server has not been upgraded since the
California offices of HANDA-LOPEZ were busted by federal authorities. Most HANDA-LOPEZ licensees were shut down after the raid, except for Grand Dominican and Starluck, which had severs outside of the United States. Grand Dominican now runs theme based casinos which use THE SAME server.

I've always wondered why Casinomeister and IGC have each given its seal of approval to Grand Dominican.

Of course the casinos that still use the software claim it has been fixed and that Handa lopez has nothing to do with the casino operations.

Bullcrappy, when is the last time someone hit a royal flush in a handa lopez casino.

They used to say handa lopez but when he got busted the casinos quickly took that name down.

Thanks, Steve. I'm sorry to open up an old wound... it's just been bugging me. I saw in one article that one fellow tried to cash out "funbucks" totaling something like $193,000 but they didn't send it - I had no idea about the failure to program the RF, though.

Handa Lopez is a person. They made casino software, java ersion. Starluck and others use it.

They were arrested once before because they forgot to program in the Royal Flush, Gee it just slipped their minds I guess. He has been sued by a bunch of people and he just slims his way across the country stealing money. I am glad they have been arrested.

He then became an ecash company. One of his casinos islandcasinos.com and his own ecash company have stolen tens of thousands of dollars from players.

He is trouble and still owes me $165.00

so let him rot in a prison cell forever.

Ok, you asked.

Online Gambling Operators Indicted
Fri June 16 2000

On Wednesday, a federal grand jury indicted two men accused of operating an illegal online gambling operation from the Silicon Valley. Authorities say David Brown of Gilroy, California and Raymond Clark of Canada ran several illegal casino-style gambling sites through the Funscape.com portal and processed at least $6 million in credit card transactions. Although Brown and Clark maintained the sites were hosted offshore, investigators found the game servers in the offices of Handa Lopez Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA. Brown's lawyers argue that the web sites were set up to comply with California's gamb...
