Of course IGC members prefer a regulated, safe and developed environment in which to operate - that's good for operators and players, too and beats the hell out of US prohibition.
But Steve makes a good point that if the IGC have ambitions as a potential regulating authority they truly need to become more player-oriented. They haven't done too well in that area thus far and they must be aware of their shortcomings. If they are smart they will be doing some serious rethinking after this GP affair.
I'm pretty sure that most operators want an harmonious relationship with the players - that's plain good business sense.
In my iew an efficient system would have a regulating authority made up of organisations like the OPA, too - that would give it credibility with all the people it impacts.
Perhaps a premature thought when some US legislaters are still looking to ban internet gambling altogether whether we like it or not!

Oh yeah if online gambling was illegal in the states, she could not sell online casino's for 5 million dollars out of Missouri.
If they do not want the government to regulate online gambling, maybe they should do a little better job of protecting the industry from crooks. Oh that would mean disbaning the IGC.

While I am fully in agreement with Steve and Dave on the lack of response to GP issues, I do have one thing which I offer in their defense - having to spend much time and energy trying to keep the proposed bans in the US from becoming reality.
That does not absolve them in any way from being silent on the GP issue, however - if this Keith Furlong is really doing any work we should have heard from him AGES ago - I am also on the list of people that sent complaints to IGC.
Needless to say I am not particularly happy with the IGC either. All I wanted to point out is that they haven't been totally idle.

Let me take Steve's side on this one. Although you could've easily ripped her a new one, you showed admirable restraint and professionalism in letting her tell IGC's side of the story. I think that Sue did a good enough job in hanging herself and the IGC in just stating "the company line". I am becoming more and more disenchanted with this industry. How can IGC even hope to convince us that they are a neutral watchdog? I think that this shows that they have a total disregard for on-line players. I don't think that they're going to get any more of my hard-earned $$$ in the near future.

Count me among the number who, months ago, *begged* IGC and RGT to protect their reputation and make some kind of statement about the Golden Palace situation. I think Steve's interview was diplomatic and informative; I hope that this time the IGC redeems itself.
I hope and I expect are two different things...

Hey, I side with Dave R. Also. What you guys think I am some Golden Palace or IGC fan? You do not think because I did not go balistic on her that I did not do my job?
Has anyone else even got that close to get them to say that much? Hell no!
Yes, I am on their ass now. And will turn up the heat a little every day.
I did bite my tongue during this interview. Did you notice that has soon as she gave me a commitment that I was done.
One thing at a time.

I'm siding with DaveR here. I personally believe IGC is fake and so does Sue. She mentioned membership for IGC is 5000$ and up to 15000$ a year, they take money fromn the casino, and of course they gonna side with the casino on any situation they can, there's no objectivety here, never had never will. and also about the donation from those casinos, reseach my @ss, pardon the language. All she said is that we will look at the cases steve will send her case by case, and how long that's gonna take? Thw golden Palace is not a new case, it's been a dead cow for over a year, and they just start look at it now, because steve is on thier ass, I really doubt they will do any thing positive for the player in the future.
Besides that, they also sell casinos for thouands of dollars a pop, it just shows that they are one of those money hungry dummy orgnizations that "put up a sheep head and sells dog meat" -- that's a chinese proverb and i think it suits perfect here.

I dont think dave is intentionally attacking steve here, jetset. he appears a little bit angry, and rightly so. i was too, listening to that. the woman HAS been appealed to with numerous emails, {including my own} for MONTHS. no response. none.
its probably a little late for redemption no matter what course they take at this late date... the IGC has clearly shown by silence and lack of action, in spite of her ignorant claims of otherwise, what they stand for today. not much of anything. but all is well as this is great for business...OPA business that is.
and steve, good interview. {remember he was filling in for the hitmob whom is most tactful and diplomatic} ask questions, listen to the answers...and YOU decide.
dave has posted warnings for MONTHS and MONTHS on GP, is probably solely responsible for the removal of banner ads from wizard of odds, etc, and no doubt and sent countless unanswered queries himself....venting, uh yeah. probably. who could blame him?

DonR you're being pretty hard on Steve there.
Why don't we postpone judgement until we see (in a ery short space of time) whether Sue Schneider was genuine in her undertakings to Steve that these cases would be examined and the decision of the IGC communicated to the OPA as the players' representative? And I'm not talking about a simple accept or reject here - they must provide chapter and erse to justify their call whatever it may be.
Let the IGC put their money where their casinogazette mouth now is. If they don't come through then I will join your condemnation and I'm connfident that others will too.
It's too late to avoid "negative publicity" and they know it. This is an opportunity to redeem themselves and they would be foolish to pass it up.

LOL.
Thanks for the plug, Steve. And you can thank Hitmob for making me a winner on CasinoGazette.
But it seems I used up all my luck LOL - if you read the other thread you will know what I'm talking about...
Does the OPA have any risk-free offers in Macau?

Sue Schneider is a fake, phony and fraud.
She is FULLY AWARE of the whole Golden Palace lockout. She knows Golden Palace stole players money. She just doesn't give a damn. And you should have called her on it, Steve. You let her get off waaaay too easily.
She wanted to talk generalities, and you wanted to talk specifics. The more specifics you talked, the more she tried to change the subject, or talk about bonus abuse by the players. She took herself out of the equation by putting all the responsibility on Keith Furlong. She knows damn well Keith hasn't done a thing. Keith takes orders directly from her!
Why is GP still a member of IGC? Why does the IGC ally itself with such a crooked company as Golden Palace? Why does IGC tolerate theft of players money by Golden Palace? The answer is that she lines her pocketbook with $$$ by doing everything in her power to protect the biggest operators in the industry. She does this at the expense of the players.

Dave, I will be keeping a ery close eye on every case that we send her.
They cannot avoid negative publicity at this point.
She said she would look into each and every case that I send her.
I am now collecting files to send to her one by one.

When you lie down with dogs, you wake up with flees. And Sue Schneider is the industry's biggest ally.
This is why everything she's said about consumer protection is bologna. If she really cared about the consumer, she would have gotten the players thier money or thrown Golden Palace out of the IGC.
But Golden Palace remains an IGC member.
Does anyone really believe Keith Furlong will help any player to get thier money.
Yeah right.
The IGC wants to handle this on a case by case basis, so as to avoid any negative publicity whatsoever. They can side with Golden Palace 9 out of 10 times, and noone else here is the wiser.
As you can see, the IGC is
BOUGHT AND PAID FOR!

I can't wait to listen to this, Steve - dare one hope that the IGC may have at last got the message of involvement and transparency in industry issues? I hope so.
Brilliant news that they are at last communicating. It may even wake Microgaming up. I can't help wondering whether the GP audit result had some bearing on this somewhere?
Well done for securing this absolute scoop. What about a print summary issued as a release to the appropriate 'zenes? Good mileage for the OPA and casinogazette if you do.

Hear me talk to her about the Golden Palace.
Hear what she has to say.
This is a ery major interview. The silence of the IGC has now been broken. Facts have been laid on the table, promises have been made.
