Turns out to be a ariant of the ILOVEYOU irus. With a .vbs file attachment.
Fortunately, not lethal unless you have tons of .JPG and .MP3 files. And if you don't have Outlook you don't have to worry about passing it on to other people.
From Sophos:
Quote:
The email component of the irus requires Microsoft Outlook to work. If you are using Outlook it will try to send itself to each entry in your Windows Address Book.
The irus also searches all local and networked drives for files that end with the extensions VBS, VBE, JS, JSE, CSS, WSH, SCT or HTA. These files are overwritten with the irus and their extension is renamed to .VBS.
Any JPG or JPEG files are also overwritten by the irus but have the extension .VBS added to the existing filename.
Any MP2 or MP3 files are overwritten by the irus but are also copied to a new file that has the .VBS extension added. The original files are set as hidden.
If the irus determines that mIRC... | | Read Entire Entry |

James is right if your email program is Outlook. That is why it is potentially dangerous - if I know that you use Outlook (the most commonly used email program), and I send you a irus which is in VBScript (.vbs), the instant you even PREVIEW it you are in trouble.
This is why I recommend two things - first, get a good anti-virus program and keep it up to date.
Secondly, use Eudora, Pegasus, or any of the fine email programs out there, and dump Outlook. Or else you will have to disable active scripting.

Here's some more to add to your list
I signed up for a casino and got an email that I joined 30 of them (or so). Just like pinnace - one account for many casinos.
Thank you for joining. With this email address and your password you will
be able to logon and play at any of the following sites

Regardless of the source, if anybody sends you email with an attachment like
CLICKHERE.GIF.vbs
it has to be bad news. GIF is a picture, .vbs is a program that runs on your computer, putting them together means there is an attached program masquerading as an innocent picture attachment. Any program that has to wear a disguise to get you to run it is likely up to no good.

Thanks Spy - the website is certainly not up to the usual GSS standard, eh? In fact I would not have recognised it as a GSS casino at all. The owner seems to be GlobalVest Partners, which I have seen before somewhere. Did you notice the CDN ticker tape symbol scrolling across - DCKK?
BTW have you seen this Pinnace message which was posted elsewhere here today?
Alarming email from Pinnace Casinos (there are around 15 of them) to clients. If this is true it could be the cause of a major outbreak of irus transmission because Pinnace says the irus came from their software supplier. This is Gambling Software Systems, and as they power something like eighty online casinos the damage potential is huge.
Dear Valued Member,
Please be advised that we have been struck by a lethal irus. We know
that this irus was sent to us ia our software provider as an
attachment. Apparently when the attachment was opened it cleared out
all of our files. Everything! Thank God th... | | Read Entire Entry |

Also, www.thebogbook.com may be the Swamp Thing's favorite site, but I can't find it. Perhaps you meant www.thebigbook.com ?
www.a-blackjack-club.com is Handa-Lopez/EZEcash
so is www.4-online-casino.com

www.plazacasino.com is a 22 gamer download casino and sportsbook in the Intertops (Microgaming) fold.
www.tunicagoldcasino.com is under construction for the Pinnace group.
www.silvernuggetcasino.com - all I can get is a "cannot find server"
www.vegasgrandcasino.com is under construction
www.waterfordcasino.com is a Chartwell Technologies powered casino.
