After my posting, Fort Jackpot offered to send me the $120 in winnings that I was owed from Waterford when it was a GSS casino. After contacting Missy, I asked her to just place the $120 in a new account for me to play. I did play there tonight and things went pretty well. They really seem to be on top of things over there.
I really feel that the casino owners should bear the ultimate responsibility when it comes to paying their players. The player should not have to deal with more then one company to resolve problems with a casino.
Example: Although I never had a problem with proc cyber I've heard numerous complaints about them over the last year. In a lot of these cases the player is stuck fighting with proc cyber and the casino says they have nothing to do with it and can't help.
The casino should be the one dealing with the ECASH provider, why should the players have to deal with that bull****.
It is an absolute joke when a casino says they have no control over whether a p... | | Read Entire Entry |

I agree with that. Owner carries ultimate responsibility.
My point to Rain was that the way I heard and read about these particular operations indicated that when they left GSS management there were at most sub-$1 amounts owing in a few accounts.
Don't ask me why - I can't recall seeing any reason for it. There seemed to be one guy with more than that at Waterford/Fortwhatever and they invited him to get in contact to be (presumably) paid.
I'm leaving myself open here because I can't remember the exact detail so let them come forward and defend themselves, or correct me if you will.
The central point I think is that they did not leave a bunch of people holding the bag which happened initially at Players Fortune (the owner did, eventually pay about 4 grand to players ia the OPA if I recall it right) After GSS fluctuated this way and that on that one they finally agreed to pay 15 pc but didn't even meet that, hence their unpopularity to this day.

A friend has a casino site, actually three that utilizes GSS software. When this crap broke out he wrote me and copied a letter from Kenneth, an OPA member, avid gambler, and webmaster.
Anyway Jac. really did sum it up best.
"I feel John, I'm responsable for my casino, not GSS.
But it's sad so much trouble."

Jetset, I think you know more about this business than most on the board.
Even if GSS were the managers of the site, someone else was the owner and I would think has ultimate repsonsibility for the liabilities of the site. I am also not suggesting the OPA resume a boycott of those two sites or even not admit them to OPA membership. I just think the OPA should be honest and advise its memebers that these two sites have a history of not paying and that those complaints remain unresolved.
My point here is this. I am an advocate for what is fair, and I think the OPA boycott of GSS casinos that pay while admitting those that have not in the pass, is hypocritical and not in the best interests of the players. Period. The OPA guys are starting to understand this that is why they are now "boycotting" this thread. They h... | | Read Entire Entry |

I just wanted to add my experiences. I have played at FJ twice in the past week, and both times I had an excellent experience as well. The first time I deposited $500 and received the $100 bonus right away. I played for a few days of blackjack, and after about $2500 wagered I cashed out at $585. I made my redemption request at about 3 in the morning, and when I checked my email the next morning I found that I had been paid 4 hours later at 7:00 AM.
I played again this past weekend and deposited $1000 with a 25% bonus. I played about $7000 this time at blackjack and cashed out at about $1260. Again a ery fast payout.
I admittedly haven't played here that much, but the odds seemed fair enough in my experiences. Plus customer service was excellent, I wrote with a question and had a response in like 5 min.
I only wonder how much longer the 20% bonus will last.

Wonderwall, to be honest I dont keep win/lose charts or anything like that. I wagered well over the requirment which was three times deposit plus bonus. Deposited 500, the max per day for new players, through paypal, recieved 25%, 125.00 bonus with deposit, as I said, deposit plus bonus was all in my account at once, faster than I could write to let them know about the paypal deposit and request the bonus.
Probably wagered around 2500 or so, stopped keeping track after I met the requirment. I actually really liked the software, slower than rtg, but faster than microgamming. BJ seemed fairly realistic, had ery few streaks on either sides, one really long one for me and for the dealer, about 6 or 7 straight hands. Otherwise it was basic give and take nothing that made me feel like smashing my moniter, like rtg can do. The oddest thing about the game, and maybe this comes from playing too much rtg, but the number of blackjacks on both sides was amazingly low. After about 2000.00 in wagering, most... | | Read Entire Entry |

Sounds like you had a great time this weekend with the good service. Forgive me if I take your post with a grain of salt though.
I must admit that I am not too familiar with you over at WOL.
I myself tend to "lurk" a lot and only jump in if I want to scream about something or have a little info that the other (very knowledgable) posters might have missed.
More to the point though, I HATE shockwave games. The last place that had them was Global Gold casino, and boy were the odds rigged there. The only place that seemed to have half-decent odds were Microgaming's "flash casinos" that are popping up anywhere.
Can you therefore give us some statistics? I am unfamiliar with the software used by FJ. Hands wagered, losses s. wins, etc would be helpful.

Just to let you know, I played here over the weekend, had great customer service, in fact before I could even get done with my email to tell them about my paypal deposit, missy had already emailed me to let me know that it was deposited in my account plus the bonus. As well my cash out and winnings back to paypal were requested that evening and were in my account the next morning. All transactions: deposit, bonus, and withdrawal were communicated by email, to me by the casino when they took place. Customer service was along the same quality level as egas strip, stanly acropolis, etc. ery impressed. They get my thumbs up.

Hello everyone, this is Missy, the below letter is from one of the casino operators of Fort Jackpot / Waterford Casino:
-----
My customer service representative Missy directed me to this message board and I have read the previous comments. I am currently one of the owners of two internet based casinos, Waterford Casino and Fort Jackpot. It’s refreshing to see such enthusiasm, however some of the speculation was simply untrue.
Our original casino, Waterford, was opened in November 1999. We had recruited an excellent marketing team, had sufficient advertising funds, and the casino quickly prospered. Without getting into the specific financial details of our contract with GSS, it was financial disagreements that caused us to shut down the Waterford Casino. It was not due to a lack of marketing expertise, or casino profitability, or lack of funds, or any other imagined reason, etc. It was due to a conflict with GSS, period.
Someone made the claim that “many players were left owing ... | | Read Entire Entry |

For those --Spear, Jetset-- that disagree, I salute you, because that's exactly what I'm talking about here. It's about dialogue, no? It's not about bullying, or being the biggest flamer or any of that sort of thing.
For those that agree, thank you. If for no other reason than because you understand what I'm aiming for, however misdirected this or that attempt may be.

I second Jetset's observations.
Max, on this issue I must disagree with you. If anyone deserved a rebuke, it was NYC, if not both at the same time. Singling out Dongambler wasn't justified in my opinion.
Don, your last remark has no basis - certainly not to the best of my knowledge. There is no reason why OPA members or committee can't continue to be a part of this forum.
Heck, I'm not perfect either. I've done things I wish I hadn't done in this forum. So I should hardly sit in judgment of others - still, I feel justified in expressing my opinion.

I don't think anyone has ever accused me of being perfect and I doubt that they're about to start now. I may have goofed in this case.
Having said that I have to ask, how does a request for a little politeness warrant such a hostile reaction? Imagine that exchange in a different context, at a bus stop for instance. A small group of people are having a heated debate in front of a convenience store and the shop owner comes out and asks that they --or even one specific person-- chill out a bit. If they responded by getting outraged and stomping off I think people would just look around in confusion asking each other what the heck happened. Not a perfect analogy perhaps, but I think it does provide an interesting perspective.
Our perspective is that these boards are a place of public discussion. As such, there's a certain level of public conduct which is expected of isitors. Would anyone reasonably expect to yell and shout and call people names in a pub, or a coffee shop, or wherever? Gene... | | Read Entire Entry |

Max - I am disturbed that your normally good sense of balance seems to have tilted. In reprimanding DonG when he was clearly provoked by NYC's abrasive post I do not believe you were fair. And Rainy went rather far with some of his assertions, too.
Having said that, I am surprised that those concerned over-reacted to the extent that they did in departing. Rainy is a canny and articulate poster who seems to have the ability to wind you up - and you went for it.
I hope that when you cool down you will see the alue of getting back in here and debating the issue to as near a conclusion as is possible!
GSS must be applauding this exchange.
These OPA guys whom you are hammering are olunteers, and they are working for both players and honest casinos with no reward.

I note, that not once in any of the posts by OPA directors has a a satisfactory answer to the waterford casino / f art jackpot fiasco been given.
Which reminds me, I read Steve's letter to the Tropika Group and he forgot to add this importan paragraph...
7) You can always close down your sites and reopen under a new name with different software. You need not worry about the Tropika players, as long as the sites name is sufficiently distinct, and the software you are using is somewhat different. Upon doing so, you will automatically qualify for OPA approval, your sins will be washed away, and you will granted the official OPA designation of *Tabula Rasa*. At your induction ceremony we will play "Too Hung To Run" at which point you may resume ramming online gamblers in the butt double time.
Sincerely... yadda yadda yadda
Why not? I'm sorry but I cant take the OPA seriously on the Tropika question in light of its incongruous position on the GSS Boycott.
