Yes, Spear I saw the other thread and its reference to a Microgaming offer of an audit at their expense. It has certainly started an interesting debate, which is what these forums are all about.
You're kind of stuck in the middle here with a dissenting iew which always opens one to attack.
If Microgaming are serious they should take the initiative and formally issue their offer. With the right sort of collaborative approach, and assuming they have nothing to worry about it should lay the ghost of unfair BJ once and for all.

Jetset, you could be right. But like you said, right now any move towards being more responsive is a welcome move.
I note that there is another thread which has been started again claiming unfair games, and again without producing any stats other than "I'm not an idiot".

Spear, I would be underestimating Microgaming if I thought that they were not getting the message. We all know they patrol these boards and have a host of market information sources so quite apart from the direct warnings, complaints and advice they have received they knew/know what is going on. My personal iew is that they were so confident of their dominant position that they chose to ignore issues - particularly player issues.
Things are changing fast on several positive levels within the industry and I think that, as a business consideration, is what is prompting the apparent change at Microgaming.
If their attitude IS genuinely changing then the motivation for that doesn't concern me - a sincere change which brings improvements is all that matters. If MGS are serious about working toward that it will be a ery welcome industry and player development in my iew.
For Steve. I'm passing on some of Spear's advice here which is alid and may help save you wasted time:

Steve are you daring me to see how many blacklists and customer complaints I can find about sites you promote. Everybody should go to your site I think http://www.casinogazette.com and listen to you claim how each one is the best on the web. Whats the big deal. There's not a single person alive that doesn't relieze these guys pay you to advertise for them. Go to www.1sportsguy.com same thing except it probably gets a hell of a lot more traffic. That's the whole point. What we might consider standing on our heads is not what Microgaming needs to proceed with further action, it appears.
They say they didn't get enough info. Some of us said we gave them plenty of info.

Thanks. Encouraging news. These people are in my iew generally professional in the technical sphere and it has always surprised me that they appear so weak in player relationships - it will be interesting to follow the developments you mention, Spear.

Miscommunication? Between licencee and provider, perhaps as from what I've seen here and elsewhere the players have just about stood on their heads trying to get responses in some of the disputes.

There were a lot of people present, and its primary purpose was just for networking.
What might be funnier is that I only recall speaking to one Microgaming person in detail about anything, and that was more software development than anything else.
However - any and all concerns that have ever been brought up in this or other forums, at least those I were able to recall, were brought up with arious Microgaming personnel.
There is a move towards being more open, but many of the details still need to be worked out. I would recommend watching developments over the next few months as some of these initiatives become reality.
Tropika and Golden Palace were, and still are, sore points as it is clear that there is a lot of miscommunication. So tell us more about that Microgaming function, Spear. Who was there other than the MGS guys? Was anything interesting revealed? Or do we have to wait for a full report on Got2Bet when you get back home!
I agree with Chuck that the apparent desire to become more communicative is ery welcome, but I think they need to go deeper than that and address the area of player sensitivity where they have had some shortcomings in the past which could usefully be addressed for their own and the players' benefit.

Any copyright or patent filed in the US is automatically alid in any other country that has a UN representative, as well as the other way around. However, in the cases of Let It Ride and Caribbean Stud, there are specific International Method Patents filed in multiple countries by the owners of the games. In short, every software company offering these games is infringing upon the personal property of someone else and profiting from a stolen game concept.
As HGN showed us last year against First Live Casino, a US company can succeed in getting offshore operations completely shut down due to a patent iolation. Remember how difficult it was for anyone to get them put out of business even though it was widely known that they were ripping off players? And what brought them down? Violating HGN's Intellectual Property Patent on Internet Wagering on live events at remote locations.

This has always suprised the heck out of me too Mary. Virtually all of the online gaming software companies offer both Let It Ride and Caribbean Stud. Both of these games are covered under International Method Patents, and are owned by someone (as you mentioned, in the case of Let It Ride, Shufflemaster).
In the past, online sites could get away with this due to their "I'm Offshore" status and partially because of ignorance of both the iolations and how to handle them on behalf of the patent owners. However, times are changing fast, and MGM has already displayed multiple times that offshore companies can be sued in US Domestic Courts, and that judgements against them can be executed in the offshore jurisdictions.

Actually, I'm surprised that Stanet aka World Gaming Plc (a publically traded company) offers patent protected games such as War and Let It Ride. If they aren't paying the inventors, they are leaving themselves open for treble damages, and, if online gaming becomes legal in the US it would be worth it for Shufflemaster to try to collect against them for Let It Ride.
You'd think after their previous legal misadventures that have chased them from country to country that they would wise up.

Grantt, you really need to step back and lighten up a little. Jetset is a good guy with nothing to hide, and certainly is not deceptive or manipulative like others who pop up from time to time. I myself received and answer to the same question immediately. In fact, I completely forgot and asked again a few months later, and again received a ery prompt and professional reply to the question. OK, if you relatively new guys rushing to the attack are having doubts about me I will again reprise my past connections with Tropika.

Most Starnet sites pay, so thats not the big problem. Their games are just average and their payouts aren't that great (pay tables, BJ rules.) and the have lousy support for account problems. It may be worth your while doing a search under Crystal Casino for a post I made a few weeks back. They're Starnet/EFS Caribbean. Two deposits were fraudulently made on my credit card (apparently I wasn't the only one). Although the money was refunded after I requested a fraud investigation, I think it was more because it was cheaper for them to do that than be faced with charge backs after I reported it to the credit card company. I'm still none the wiser about what happened ie did someone hack into their database, was it dishonesty at EFS or Crystal Casino's end?
