Keep your day job PJ.
Windows casino like all RTG casinos, uses multiple decks. The number of decks may be able to be set by each individual operator, (not sure on this). The number of decks I suspect can be 2-8 decks.
Most online casinos shuffle after every hand. There are a few who don't, but the penetration is so poor that it's not worth counting cards.
There was a lot of flack about Windows casino no too long ago. If you like the software, I can suggest other RTG sites such as Casino Extreme, Grand Banks, Powerbet, and Casino Merlin

Thank you all for the quick response. I have taken your advice to heart. I gotta ask though. Windows Casino has excellent graphics-- and I am winning a small fortune there.
Here is what I do. I'll build up my winnings and then blow most of it on a couple of high risk bets (like a single number on the roulette wheel.) I get my bank back down to about $200. Then I begin again. A couple of times I have lost my "winnings," but usually
I find a reasonably reliable set of circumstances during the game. For example, as I play I notice that the same card of the same suit appears in the same hands (7hearts and another 7hearts)indicating that the deck is a multiple deck shoe. How many decks does it play with?.. Is it sequential (meaning, do they play into a shoe load of cards?).. or is each new deal a top of the "shoe" deal. If it is sequential, what is the typical shuffle point? Are these electronic games good for counting cards?
I guess what I am looking for are the typical... | | Read Entire Entry |

PJ, Welcome. This is THE place to keep up with what is going on in the online gambling industry (also gonegambling, casinomeister), but this board is the most up to the minute i think. Very knowledgeable posters.
Regarding fun s. real, I think it aries so i would not put much faith in fun ersion.
One think you need to know, there are a good many online casinos that are sleazy. There are over 1800 online casinos and many, many of them are ery questionable. You will do well to stick with the recommendations you receive on this board (by the way the above are all casinos i recommend).
You should definitely join the OPA, it is the best organization out there to protect the interests of honest players.
Bottom line is this industry is UNREGULATED, so in the end if you get s...wed, its TOUGH LUCK.
Welcome aboard and good gambling!!

Welcome, PJ! All of the above is good advice, and you have already made one of the smartest moves which is to hang out with good message boards where you will pick up sound advice (and some entertainment at times too!)
There are plenty of crooks out there, but also good, safe casinos.
Kiss Casino btw is a Boss Media-powered operation which in general makes it reasonably funded and safe. They tend to et their licencees conscientiously and their casinos don't come cheap which kind of discourages low-funds chancers trying to get into the casino business. You'll see arious people bitching about their e-cash WebDollar, but that's usually because you can't draw out more than $5000 a month in cashouts - should you be that fortunate!
The Online Players' Association is another wise thing to join. It's always nice to know you have an organization behind you that will fight your corner (if you're in the right) in any casino dispute in which you may become involved. They also run a webca... | | Read Entire Entry |

PJ, try Kiwi, you'll find banners here & on www.casinomeister.com
You can get a free hat. They are affiliated with Christchurch, a land operation Down Under. Cryptologic software, so you will get a temporary PIN and then a permanent PIN later, but it is worth it for the lack of credit card hassle.

My "stay away" list:
All iCrystal/Manihi casinos (Costa Rica based)
Your money is always at risk here!
Non-responsive customer support, I have been stiffed by a sister operation. No response to 5 E-mails and one phone call.

My .02,
Despite what others have experienced, I have had only one problem with Proc-Cyber/Firecash in hundreds of transactions (and lots of $$$) in the 6 month period between 12/00 and 5/01. This one problem was resolved with a few E-mails.
The casinos I have had NO problems with in getting paid include:
Fortune Lounge Group
7 Sultans, Royal Vegas, Fortune Room
Sunny Casino Group
Casino Fortune
The Gaming Club
Boss Media/Webdollar
Tip:Sign up and get your PIN # first. Don't start playing there until you receive it.
Prestige Casino
Sunset Casino

PJ, I recommend you start your online play at a casino that has a land installation as well, such as:
Lasseters
Stanley Acropolis
Piggs Peak
Aspinalls
William Hill
I think they're the least likely to mess up.
As for the "for fun" ersus "for money" question, in my experience, the above seem to play the same in both incarnations...but, as a player, I don't! There is a big difference in one's betting behavior when real money is on the line. I suggest you take baby steps ($5 bets) to see how comfortable you feel with the money...and never, never, never take cash advances on your credit cards for gambling money.

I guess I'm what you would call a newbie. I'm and experienced casino patron, but I live so far away from them. To get started, I saw a negative comment about Windows Casino (though it has great graphics for me)and I was wondering about Kiss Casino... I haven't seen any reviews of that one.
Also, what are the thoughts on Blackjack "For Fun" erses Blackjack "For Money?" I'm a pretty good player... and several times, playing for fun I have racked up a load of cash. Are the "fun" games fixed to draw me in?
Finally, Can anybody recommend a great online casino to isit?
I guess thats' enough to start-- I look forward to your comments.
PJ
