The 2.9SD included illustrated. I played both and lost the same amount at each. I was just unlucky.
One standard deviation can be figured out by taking the square root of the number of bets played and then multiplying that number by 1.1 times the size of the bet. The square root of 600 is nearly 24.5 so it's 24.5x1.1x$10 which is about $270. Losing $800 is nearly 3 Standard Deviations below the average loss (the average loss is only a few dollars due to the low house egde of 0.13%- so it's about $8 in $6000 wagered).

Sirius,
I played at both and all seemed fine. I lost at Captain Cooks but won at Illustrated. Seems that way all the time. Can't blame it on anything out of the ordinary. Can you post your results form Cap't Cooks? I'd like to see what 2.9 SD looks like as far as wins/losses.

I was wondering how other people did at Captain Cooks and Illustrated last week. I had ery bad luck there (quite a few hundred to one chance).
I lost $200 at each ($400 each including the bonus) I was betting $10 hands and I noted my balance after each 40 units bet. You have to wager at least $2800 on a $500 deposit (40% bonus and 4 x play through).
My balance (starting at $700) at Illustrated after every 40 units (every $400 wagered) were 595,600,600,510,525,420,320. I lost another $20 in a few more hands and cashed in.
At Captain Cooks it was down all the way almost: 630,585,515,485,405,310,330. I lost a few more hands and cashed in $300 again.
This was ery bad luck overall(2.9 Sd's below average). I lost nearly 15% of the wagered amount in about 600 hands.
I've no doubt though that the software is fair. I've had long streaks of good luck with Microgaming.
What I don't like is the way Illustrated and Captain Cooks give away so much money (they woul... | | Read Entire Entry |

Apollo ,
I've played at Captain Cook's , bad experience. 2 days in a row they charged me twice the amount that I had deposited . I withdrew 2 times 20.00 bucks , they charged 4 times 20.00 to my c. card .They practically stole 80.00 bucks from me and after my complaint , refused to correct those mistakes. Frustrating .Too bad I 've enjoyed the keno game on their site .I've got to find a fair casino to play at.
Be careful .

I had one minor hassle over a bonus issue with Caribbean Gold, but that was more than a year ago and haven't had any problems since. All three of the Casino Coins sites (Caribbean Gold, English Harbour and Silver Dollar), have always been good to me, and are perhaps the only Microgaming sites I have ever received payment from in a timely manner.

Captain Cooks had some slow payments but they seem honest. I played at Carib. Gold and got paid without a problem.
