prosperity 9035 : I forgot to include
both sea-based and river-based casinos
when I said land-based casinos.

I noticed that your address is Port Richey,
Florida. A Sun Cruz casino boat operates
right down the street from you. What do
you want - a casino on every street corner?
Don't answer that - I think I know the
answer !

Virtually everyone within the country is
within 5 hours of some form of a casino.

Many are even closer. To me , striking
distance means within hours.

Enjoy your "Game Boy" casino blackjack
games. Good luck kids.

Don't know what country you are from but here in the states there are millions of people who are hours away from land based casinos.

I do not believe one can compare Game Boy,which
was designed for children, with small, mobile
gambling games which must appeal to adults.

I do not believe this technology will appeal
to the average adult gambler. I know a lot
of people who gamble who still will not
gamble on-line no matter what the ehicle
used is.

I doubt that there will be much of a
widespread market for this. However,
that does preclude it from still being
profitable to some degree.

DaveR there are operational WAP based and for real money - I'll dig out the urls for you.

Grantt - yes, that's about your cheap mark so I'll reply in kind - you are truly a brass plated putz.

"Dave R It takes me a couple hours to get to Atlantic City each way,"

Then both routes must take the same amount of time .

I'm going to Atlantic City next month , it will take about 10 hours, 2 flights and the 2 hour drive.

Are there any WAP-based casinos that are up and running for real $$$? If so, I am definately interested. It takes me a couple hours to get to Atlantic City each way,
and this would be a great way to pass the time. I know certain companies have PLAY FOR FUN casinos, but I have yet to come across the real thing.

That's probably what was said about the game boy as well. Who wants to play a ideo game on a tiny screen. The sales are probably in the millions. There is already lots of hand held blackjack/video poker games on the market that you can play just not for money. They would be great on the plane. Palm Pilot isn't that what they used to call you Jetset when you hit puberty.

And yet clearly the market research of a number of sa y companies is indicating that there are attractive possibilities. Even if they snag a relatively small portion the projections for this industry have potential.

The idea of gambling on a Palm Pilot does not particularly appeal to me in a personal sense, but the facts are there - development work is going for it.

I do agree with Colly. It seems absurd that
that this new introduction of gaming ia
pocket and palm PCs will gain widespread
acceptance.

Almost everyone is within "striking"
distance of some form of gambling. Certainly , those that have
small , mobile PCs, also have desktops at home. And land-based casinos are much
more fun.

I enjoy gambling as much as anyone. But
I , myself, would not be interested in

Surely you jest!
you would have to be a seriously hardcore gambler with VERY LARGE GLASSES! to have to play on your mobile because you werent near a computer or a land casino?

What a way for the telco's to make money
I think I spend way too much time at the computer as it is- I be damned if I want it everywhere!

regards
Colly

Although there are already operational WAP-based casinos out there I think this is a shrewd strategic move on World Gaming's part (assuming that they have the capability which Factor X doubts)

The new management team are apparently taking a methodical approach in attacking the old baggage Starnet was carrying.

The mobile gambling area is a potentially lucrative future industry segment in which there has been much interest and technical development of late.

Starnet cannot handle what it has now.

And now they are going to tackle new
ventures?

A Starnet press release from a month
ago told about their addition of parimutuel
wagering to many of their casino sites.

You would be hard pressed to find a
Starnet casino that is actually doing this.

I know. I have tried to locate one!.
I signed up with one that has one - I have
experienced nothing but headaches from
this particulat Starnet site.

This company puts out grandiose sounding
bull---- releases for the gullible general
public to swallow. I guess that they do
this to bolster the price of
their anemically-priced stock.

As you can tell , I do not like this
company nor do I trust what they have
to say in their ery self-serving press
releases

Interesting, looks like the new regime is taking the bull by the horns. I pulled an old starnet site I had in mothballs for a year out a couple of weeks ago and did ok with it. I haven't tried to cash out anything yet, so we'll have to see on that part. Amazing technology though! Every pub, subway car, etc. etc. is gonna turn into a casino! Can you imagine doubling down in the Frozen Food section!1 lmao
