Hmm, could this be the same Frederic Sebag? I don't know French, but I do know red numbers on a balance sheet.

GP must spend a fortune on marketing, which makes it all the more mystifying that they treated clients as badly as they did a while back instead of trying to develop them into repeat isitors with honest practise and loyalty programs.
I have a major problem in forgetting their arrogance, dishonesty and contempt for their aggrieved players but I guess they can keep the money rolling in by enticing a continuous stream of newbies who know nothing of their past.
I wouldn't personally touch any of their sites with a ten foot bargepole.

Just one last note on this topic - see those names in the article posted by Mary - including the president of that fraudulant telemarketing firm - Jack Strulovitch - I have it on good authority that he's the mastermind behind Golden Palace - and the boss - so, if you have problems there, don't assume Mr. Francis will be the only upstanding guy willing and able to help with your concerns (in addition to some of the other upstanding people also listed in the article). So, just remember, be careful out there!

Sorry Mary - didn't mean to raise the old blood pressure!
What I found intriguing is that, as a journalist, I was taught to put both sides to a story, which I endeavour to do (well, most of the time anyway!). The Casino Player piece amused me by the fact that it reads like a straight advertorial masquerading as a feature article.
Hmmm. Wonder if there's any cash to be made with that style of writing? No, on second thoughts, I'd rather keep my reputation and dignity!

Gee, Mary, I am really impressed. Mark Francis was the only member of the group committing telemarketing fraud using his own name.
What a stand up guy! No wonder he is in charge of security at Golden Palace.

as bad as they may sound ... advertising on the back of a boxer seems pretty innovative to me:
Boxer Bernard Hopkins Makes History With Tattoo Ad on His Back
By Pete Coates
New York, Oct. 3 (Bloomberg) -- When boxer Bernard Hopkins climbed into the ring and peeled off his robe at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, he showed off more than his muscles.
Written in large letters across his back in a temporary tattoo was ``Goldenpalace.com,'' an advertisement for an online casino that's believed to be the first endorsement of its kind by a North American professional athlete.
The tattoo didn't last long -- the dye ran when Hopkins started to sweat and was washed off by the third round. Its impact, however, may endure much longer, marketing experts said.
``This is probably the last frontier in sports marketing,'' said Bob Williams, president of Burns Sports Celebrity Service in Chicago. ``In boxing, you don't have the use of a uniform like in other sp... | | Read Entire Entry |

Aaaaaagh! Golden Palace spends a lot of money on advertising. It works. Heck, I've been told by more than one source that spamming forums works. Well, crud!

Oh and Mr. Sholl... I have moved so **** you.
What you told the judge that you dont advertise to American Citizens.

There's an article in the October Casino Player magazine about Golden Palace sponsoring the Roy Jones Jr light heavyweight fight against Julio Gonzalez in LA on July 28th.
It's seven pages long. Although I personally wasn't around when the whole GP scandal kicked off, those who were are sure to be incensed by it.
Just a few choice quotes by way of example.
"It certainly is beneficial to us being one of the first online casinos ever launched on the internet, and that obviously adds a lot of legitimacy in this type of busines," says Frederic Sebag of Cyberworld, Golden Palace's marketing firm. "People, as you know, go to (online) chatrooms and forums and they talk... and if (the site) has a good reputation, that's something that has a lot to do with its success."
Later Sebag says about GP: "They've been around for a long time and they're reputable. And the reason their presence has grown to this point is through sponsorships.. there are always ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Hi Colly, thanks for the shout! Been around, didn't have anything constructive to add that I hadn't said already.
Well, it seems that Golden Palace is now the King of "bathroom advertising". I was at Tito's Mexican restaurant in San Leandro tonight and saw another GP ad in the bathroom.
Kind of appropriate, huh?

I saw one in the bathroom of the mexican restaurant in the Mercado Shopping Center in Sunnyvale, CA.
I would have flushed it down the toilet, but I couldn't get it out from behind the plastic protector.

This isn't the first time Golden Palace has advertised in similar ways. As you probably hear ads on Howard Stern and how they actually practice there (yeah right). As well, in June I was at the F1 Grand Prix in Montreal, Golden Palace must have been some sort of sponser as every second person walking around had a black Golden Palace tshirt on as well they advertised in a whole section of the program. It's only advertising plain and simple.
