Not exactly what I was looking for, but still ery informative. I think I have found my answer. It is basically the same as a Place Bet, with the following difference:

1. A Place Bet pays less than true odds, but has no Vig (house commission)

2. A Buy Bet pays true odds, but with a 5% Vig (house commission)

I pulled up some papers for a craps game that was being developed on a previous project I was working on. I can't say that this is the same in the BM game, but these seem to be the standard rules for these bets:

Place Bet:

Place bets is a wager that a specific point number {4,5, 6,8,9,10} will come up before a 7. This bet may be placed at anytime, but is automatically off (inactive) during the come out roll. It may also be taken down or increased at anytime. As an option, this bet may be selected as “working” during the come out roll if desired.

When “working”, the bet pays:

- 9 to 5 for numbers 4,10
- 7 to 4 for numbers 5,9
- 7 to...

Jerry,

I think the help you need can be found in any book or pamphlet that explains craps.

You can't "buy" a number in the come field. Come bets are exactly like pass line bets EXCEPT they are made AFTER a pass line point has been established. Field bets are bets on all numbers except 5,6,7,and 8 and have higher house odds than come bets.

Buy bets are bets on any number you chose, 4,5,6,8,9,10. All buy bets have a bigger house percentage than the come bet which also allows "free" odds.

If you want to press your wins on buy bets I would think you can rebuy for double the amount up to the tabl...

The obvious difference is that when buying the bet you can choose which number you want, and that you don't risk a losing bet in the Come field. Is there anything else? Does this bet payout less? Does this bet lose easier, such as being removed when the point is reached?

I'm just curious because if there is nothing more to lose, buying bets could be a method for pressing my winnings.

I decided to take a break away from my usual playing spots to return to Boss Media for a short while, as I haven't played their software in the last couple of weeks. Because of the controversy of CCG, I should state now that my play was at Prestige Casino.

As usual, I stuck mainly to blackjack, but I finally took a moment to check the craps game that Boss Media has put together. I must say that they have done an excellent job with this game, which is no easy accomplishment. From a programming perspective, this is the most difficult game to create.

However, there was one thing I didn't like about the game. I usually like to have a few different come bets on the table at any given time, and usually like to press those wins a couple of times before taking the winnings, as it's easy to turn a few dollars into a lot of money if you get a hot roll. However, with the BM Craps game, I am not able to press these bets; it instantly puts the winnings back into my balance. Is there an option or m...
