Everything about bonuses has been said and resaid ad infinitum.
That's why I feel compelled to say something too.
Risking your own money within the concept of receiving a bonus must mean that you have lost the bonus. If you win you are not risking your own money.
If you cash out and quit risking money, then by that analysis, you are a bonus abuser. You don't quit being a bonus abuser until you have lost your winnings and your bonus and start risking your own money.
If they don't think you risk enough, well, you could be like Wm Hill and require 15 times playthrough. They could also be like Wm Hill and throw new unasked for bonuses at players and require 60 times playthrough for those before cashing out any of your previous winnings.
You could be like Virtual Casino and offer $10 FREE MONEY but in the fine print say you can't cash out the free money unless you have made a previous deposit and even then cant cash out until you've promoted that $10 to $200. ... | | Read Entire Entry |

So what I want to know is this: What the hell is bonus abuse!!! I've never heard a bigger crock of **** in my life. If a casino gives me a 1000% bonus, I'll take that ****er, ALWAYS. YES, I do surf the net looking for 300% promo's from Golden Palace's entire lineup of **** shacks. If the Casino can't afford the promo, they can either get rid of it, or they can stop whining about player abuse like a >>SNIP<< . And for those who think using promotions is 'cheating' or 'dishonest', don't expect me to buy you anything with my comp $$$.

I promised to respond to Mary's statements some time ago, so here I am. Let me first explain how my experience with the Golden Palace started: In Sommer 2000, when I was quite new to online gambling I received a GP promo through Gambling.com requiring a deposit. While downloading the software I checked with the Internet Gaming Commission. Reading their warning about closed accounts and seized funds I immediately uninstalled the software. In October I received another offer, this time $50 FREE-NO DEPOSIT REQUIRED!!! Since I had become an OPA member a few days before I was aware of their statements. But: "What can I lose by playing with free money without any deposit of my own? Why shouldn't I try it?" I played BJ turning the $50 into $100. The withdrawal did work without any problems. Then they started sending me deposit promotions. First I thought that's the typical way a proper shark would work. Nevertheless I decided to give them another try. Again I won and got paid-it was as simple as that... | | Read Entire Entry |

Followed by:
*the past doesn't matter...
or
*message board postings aren't proof...
(then I post phonebusters.org)
then they just never respond to my statements.
Absolutely, the Golden Palace Group may be treating some players well at present. But, it doesn't prove that they will treat *all* players well at any time, and given that there are other casinos with equally fine terms and service without a criminal history--including making threats against women and children--why should anybody bother extending the benefit of the doubt?
A land regulatory commission wouldn't, outside of places like Antigua and Kahnewake, which have their own histories of issuing death threats to enforce business deals. Those can be found in newspapaer accounts local to their jurisdictions.

This is absolutely typical GP brass and has all the subtlety of a sledge hammer.
This is the basis of their comeback tactics that is used ad nauseum : "I don't know anything about the past but they're good guys now so come and give us your money"
Yeah, right!
But do your own research on the watchdog sites - there is a huge amount of material on the unbelievably bad treatment this group so arrogantly dished out to players - and the people in charge remain the same.
If any player is taken in by this and is still intent on taking chances at least go in with your eyes wide open and all your senses on alert.

I am terribly sorry to disprove your prediction, Mary, but I will return. I spent last night preparing myself for my Civil Law Exam. Now it is 6:23 a.m. here and I have to go to sleep. Nevertheless I will definitely address all your comments as soon as I have time.
Apart from that it is great to see that members like HKGambler may have a totally different opinion but are still able to cope with people having a different point of iew without defaming them. Everyone has the right to express his/her opinion freely without being labelled wrongly. I respect HKGambler's opinion and he treated me correctly in his post.
BTW: Grand Online confirmed sending me a check for $1043.00 in winnings yesterday.

JB, surely you know that the Internet does not have boundaries? Of course Golden Palace can have marketing representatives in Austria.
As a law student, perhaps you will be interested in specializing in online gambling licensing laws. Currently, the owner of Golden Palace and Mark Francis, his employee, would not be able to obtain licensing in a first-world jurisdiction such as Queensland, Nevada, New Jersey or the Isle of Man, because of criminal history and associations.
I would be remiss in my role as OPA researcher if I did not point this out to players. In the absence of meaningful regulation, word of mouth is our regulation.
I note also that you do not address my statements concerning Mark Francis, but rather resort to ad hominem attacks upon regular posters here.
I will enture another prediction: that Jack Black, law student, will not return.

Highly possible that Jack really is a law student in Austria, and not a GP guy in disguise.
It doesn't matter anyhow. The point is, the one who glorifies an evil will certainly get nailed by the righteous mass. This is a law that Jack must have learnt in his early law schooling.
Jack, if you're not a GP guy, truly welcome to this board, although unfortunately you said something unwelcomed.

I have been reading the messages in this forum for quite a while. Since I am law student working for a newspaper publisher in Austria I did not have the time to take part in discussions myself. On Christmas Eve I saw this Golden Palace discussion featuring opinions opposing the usual ones here. Therefore I decided to join and post my own point of iew.
Since I already noticed there are some people trying to label anyone posting in favor of GP as a "GP guy" in the past it was quite interesting for me to check the reactions to my post today. And "BINGO": Jetset wrote about "those GP guys". One advice: Just check my e-mail address so you can see that my ISP is chello.at, a cable provider operating in Austria. If you really think that GP got its staff members working in Austria I can't help you.

Golden Palace and their determined publicists can't change the past.
Call any Golden Palace affiliated casino and ask for Mark Francis. You'll find the same Mark Francis at www.phonebusters.org, a law enforcement site for telemarketing scams. Mark's particular speciality was calling elderly Canadians and informing them of faux sweepstakes wins.
Hey, we'll forgive bookies; this is gambling. But out and out fraud...well, if that's the casino you want to play--with their proprietary software--your choice.

This time the discussion got ery interesting due to the fact that Wilhelm and Grantt took the courage to present a different point of iew on Golden Palace than the one usually found on this board.
In fact I have been playing at GP and three affiliates regularly for more than six month now, including lots of promotions. I gained a net win of several thousand dollars. The first withdrawals always took some time due to their security review but afterwards payouts were much faster than at most other online casinos I am playing at. Their customer service agents are ery friendly and competend, the software is absolutely fair. So why should I NOT play there? My personal experience was a VERY PLEASANT one.
I do not dare to judge anyone else's complaint but I think there is an important thing everyone gambling online should be aware of:
Casinos are in the business to make money. They are part of the entertainment industry, they are no charities. When they offer bonusses as big as the ... | | Read Entire Entry |

So who is the Bayshore Law Group? Are they some attorneys with an offshore investment to avoid taxes?
grantt,I assumed that you were getting affiliate checks because devoting your home page to a portal for free seems like a pretty dumb thing to do when you could make some money. Are you such an avid fan of the Starnet sites of the Bayshore Law Group that you try to collect amatuer girlfriend and wife photos for free out of the joy you experience gambling?
Seems like a lot of work for nothing.

Thank you, Josh!! Your compliments mean a tremendous amount to me, and the GPWA! Truly! I wish we could let you in; I know you'd enjoy it.
To set the record straight, tho, since Grantt has these numbers all screwed up (along with many other "facts" he's spewed out about me today), we have 69 members (since 5/5/01), of which about 60 are Portal Webmasters. We also have a few Casino Pitbosses who participate in the Lounge area, and a couple of spammersby. Those 60 webmasters represent well over 100 Portals, I believe; I'm in the process of gathering stats right now.
Isn't it ironic that Grantt was the *69th* registered user, when he registered today to post spam for his casinos in our Public section of the board? He ery obligingly did not have the intelligence to change his user name before registering!

Josh lets just say it's not uncomman for one person to owm more than 56 portals. Lets just say none of the respected large casino portals are represented here. It's precious that you respect this but you need to set your goals higher. The point is that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
slycin56 post this link http://videopokerjunkie.com/freemoney.htm from your site at egaslobby under promos and as a header post $10 free promos you will get over 100 isitors in less than 24 hours gaurenteed. Sly,
I want to congratulate you on managing to get 56 members at a site where membership is restricted to owners of gambling portals.
I don't know how many such portals there are on the net, but it certainly seems to me that you have a rather large percentage of them represented.
(Although I write for a gambling portal, I do not own one. Hence, I am ineligible for membership. Otherwise, I would have joined.)

slycin56 You call those sites unattractive, bad color coices, poor na buttons. I did a search on the major search engines under the top keywords for your catagory and your nowhere to be seen. You are bashing me. You don't have a clue do you. You don't even have a title in your meta tags. Probably the number one way to get search engine positioning on the major search engines. Me liking Starnet is my prefferance that you don't like it is your prefferance. I like there software, I like that they have lots of games to choose from, I like the speed at which the games play and I like both casino and sports betting which is offered there. I personally could care less about a free $10 or jumping a number of hoops and keeping track of my exact amount wagered to get a bonus. I like to log in and not cash out the same day. These are my prefferances. Mary yours I don't care to know and why you care what I think is beyond me. If you insist on attacking my posts that is you perogitive. "Do people who follow the rules posted and don't scam get their money. Yes Everytime so take advantage of the most generous offer in the industry."
This is an out and out lie. Period. No two ways about it. No Ambiguity. Nothing personal. No shades of gray.
Grantt has been steered to several posts to the contrary and chooses not to cite them.
Since he steers people primarily to Starnet sites, this pose of being "just another player" is wearing thin.

I do not see your point Mary. I post casino promos in the casino promos section and discuss casinos in the good and bad casino section. I defend casinos regardless of the software. Go to Vegas lobby casino promos I have posted casino promotions for Starnet sites as well as many others there. I think you like to play moderator on here. Did someone die and leave you soley in charge and I don't know about it.

If you dont want me posting on this message board, that's fine with me. You seem to assume that I love wasting your time by forcing you to read my posts, and you further assume it's sending me countless traffic. Looking at my logs I received less than 20 hits from winnersonline in the past 3 months!
If you take into consideration that my site receives 2500 hits a day on average, then this would be the worst investment of my time. If you further take into consideration that I operate over 20 web properties, that generate over 50000 hits a day, then i am obviously wasting my time.
I'm not going to waste any more of your precious bandwith by posting my 'spam'
If you dont want me here, that's great, because i have other more pressing obligations. The idea behind posting here was to become more knowledgeable of one of the businesses I'm in. I can achieve that, in a different way.
Have fun Mary,
Antoine

antoine, you're a webmaster, right? For a portal site?
Tell me why players should not get angry that marketers use this tactic to interfere with player discussions. Tell me why we should be nice or polite or understanding or (buzzword) "professional" to someone running a con here.
See, here's the difference. You want my money.
grantt wants my money.
I'm entitled to know that is the case.
Spearmaster wants my money but he's upfront about it. Oleg wants my money.
Jetset used to want my money, and when he did, he was upfront about it.
I don't want your money. I don't want grantt's money. I don't want Spearmaster's money.
I want to hang on to my money. I post to help other *players* hang on to their money, or get a good gamble for it.
There's a place on this board for marketing one's site. There's no reason to post here and interfere with player discussions.
