I have been paid the full amount that was owed by Casino Merlin. Not sure if this came from Merlin or RTG, but either way, kudos to Michael Staw and others for setting this right.

First, I need to correct a post. It was casino Extreme that paid me not Merlins. To all that are getting burned, I know it is a terrible feeling, but we all should know by now that that is one of our biggest risks playing online. No matter what the organization a casino belongs to or the casinos intentions, when they are broke, they are broke. It happens in other areas as well that ARE regulated. Know the risks, bet with your head.

It sounds to me like safebet is just a trade organisation with a misleading name.
Who cares about software audits? Playing with a moderate amount of cash will give you a good indication of an online cash hoover or a reasonable game fractile.
A 100 grand bond as minimum surety is what a punter wants.

I also tried to file a complaint with Safebet regarding Casino Merlin. They responded with this statement:
"Thank you for inquiring with SafeBet Organization, Inc. SafeBet is a membership-based service for online gaming providers. The provider you have attempted to submit a dispute with is currently NOT a Member of SafeBet, but your dispute has been recorded. Therefore, the Organization has no authority to contact them to request payment on your behalf."
They then provided a hyperlink to their website to iew the current member casinos, and Casino Merlin is STILL listed as a Gold Member.
I'm almost as upset with SafeBet as I am with Casino Merlin. Obviously, online gambling is a losing proposition when even a few casinos don't pay up. I'm ready to give it up.

I am owed by Casino Merlin also. They put the "Safebet Platinum" logo on their website, even though they were only Safebet Gold. I notified Safebet about this, and received this reply on October 23:

Well, there is some good news from Jondo. I keep coming back here hoping to find some. It does seem unusual that they would pay some players rather than paying their royalties to RTG. Players are easier to stall since we can't pull the plug on them. We can only complain to people with no power and warn others of the situation.

I don't know anything about bank regulations in Israel, but many US issuers limit chargebacks to 60 days from the date of the statement, so contact them immediately. You certainly have a alid case if you are due a refund and have not received it.
Now I don't feel so bad out only $977 in winnings.

I opened an account in September or October but never made a deposit. I didn't like the signs and comments so thanks everyone!

They ought to be called "Surebet" as in if you think we will help u, its a surebet we wont.
Why do you guys think RTG casinos are having all of these paying problems? Is it their bonuses are excessive or are their games to easy? Do they have higher overhead than other casinos with different software?
Just curious.

Merlin had sent winnings to me in October, taking about five weeks, which is not bad for an RTG site. And this time my deposit was returned in just 2 days. They really caught me offguard.
Powerbet has never been a problem for me. Just today they paid my winnings by Neteller, only 8 days from my withdrawal, and it might have been faster if I had understood their system better. I don't want to include the innocent with the guilty on this.
E-World also owes me $2178 in winnings and their latest promise is to send it this Friday. We will see. I am not sure how many delinquent casinos RTG can take over before they fail too.
Club Mardi Gras owes me $418.50 in winnings approved on November 23. Their web site promised payout within 30 days of approval. I don't think I will bet on it.
The previously reliable Vegas Casino Online and Twin Aces also owe me more than $3200.

25% is BS. Players should settle for nothing less then what they are owed. After all Merlin was SafeJoke certified and if RTG allowed them to operate knowing they were going under then they are just as guilty as Merlin. Nothing but the full amount owed to players should be paid.
It also appears that for nearly 3-4 months(around Sept) Merlin has taken deposits, let players wager, offered some promos, etc. BUT HAVEN'T PAID OUT A DIME. So where is all that money they took in? This may be another "take the money and run" situation like Rated Player, Ascot, Etc.
BULL ON ANYTHING LESS THEN 100% of what is owed. No one should be saying anything different.

IF Casino Merlin went bankrupt, then RTG needs to step up to the plate. They should pay players AT LEAST 25%.
Any less than that is like spitting in the players' face. IF they screw players, I will call for a blanket boycott of all RTG powered sites.
At least Microgaming stepped up to the plate in the Tropika matter. I don't think Microgaming wanted to, however. In MY opinion, it was PWC that forced thier hand. I believe that PWC threatened to end its contract with Microgaming, and Microgaming didn't want this under any circumstances, and finally Microgaming decided to pay its nlayers,.
Microgaming still deserves credit for doing the right thing, despite the reasons behind thier decision.

DONGAMBLER is "right on the money"
with his comment of SafeBet being the biggest
joke in the industry.
Take a look at some of the "gold & Platinum"
certified casino's they list;
Windows Casino
Vegas Strip Group
Sci-Fi Casino
Magic Oasis Casino
The Casino Online
Black Widow Casino
Power Bet
Casino Merlin
All "problem" Casino's!!
They list on their site as a "requirement"
of all SafeBet members:
7. Sufficient cash reserves must be maintained to pay winners.
8. Player disputes must be handled efficiently and accurately.
10. Players must always have the right to speak to a casino representative about their account.
YEAH, RIGHT!!!
SafeBet, and the casino's that have the
"dishonor" of displaying the "SafeBet" logo,
are places that players should stay far away
from. Very far away!!
And Real Time Gaming should... | | Read Entire Entry |

Another casino with the "SAFE JOKE" quality seal bites the dust. Where will SAFE JOKE/ RTG be in all this? As far away as possible. Busy out collecting fees from other "quality" casinos so they too can display what has become the absolute NUMBER 1 joke of the industry, the Safe Bet Seal.
Funny how all of these players have been owed money for months and RTG/SAFEJOKE have done nothing. But as soon as the payments lag to them for the licensee fees the plug is pulled. Why wasn't it pulled when they fell seriously behind in payments to players weeks ago? Cause RTG/Safejoke don't care as long as they are getting paid.

RTG have said in the past that they will not get their hands dirty in player-casino disputes, but this looks like something bigger and different in my iew and they should be at least issuing a joint statement with Merlin telling players what is going on in order to allay their fears.
If it comes down to it, they should consider the manner in which Microgaming eventually stepped in and did the right thing in the Tropika dispute as an example.
It is a pity that RTG seems to be falling back due to the behaviour of more and more of its licencee casinos and they need to get a grip on this.

Nice Picture!
It seems to me that if RTG cut them off, RTG bears some responsibilty. HMM, didn't I read that Safebet guarantees against this?? Lots of luck with that though!
Rtg needs to get a plan together or they are going to be finished. It's too bad, it is decent software.

Merlin owes me almost $800 from a mid-September withdrawal. And, unfortunately, none of it is winnings - - it's all just a request to return my deposit money. I got an email from Merlin yesterday saying that I "will get paid for sure", but I don't have a lot of confidence.
I am almost ready to "retire" from online gambling - - it is just too nerve wracking trying to get paid. I hope that RTG realizes that if they force Merlin out of business and the players suffer, online gaming loses another notch of credibility.

Casino Merlin has been down for a few days now, and the word is that "the owners and RTG" have to determine what is to be done.
Translation: RTG shut them down for lagging on licensee fees. That means players will be burned.
Anyone owed by Casino Merlin?
