gambler45 & Go2Bet,

6/45 lottery is about 1 in 8 million. I think gamberl45 take his 8 million from there.

I believe you are correct. Think of it as a cycle. A cycle would be the average number of pulls required to hit the jackpot. If t takes three million pulls (on average) to hit a jackpot. Then, you will have lost 3% of your money each cycle. If you do not hit a jackpot in the 3 million pulls, then the loss would be 3% plus the jackpot for that cycle. It is possible you may hit two jackpots on the next cycle which would bring the ig back to 3%
Jacks or Better gives a better shot. 42,000 hands per cycle (royal) with a 0.5% ig.

Scaven asked.."exactly what does the payout % mean, does it mean that you will (for a 97% payout) only lose 3% of you deposit if you play enough hands (or for a certain period of time for all users playing it)?"

What I thought it meant was for each $100 you wager you will lose $3. So you deposit $100...wager $1000 you should have $70 left on the average.

Slotski said "Plus, the 97% figure includes the top jacpot payout. This happens on avg. 1/1mill spins or more i beleve. If you assume you wont hit top jackpot during your session (a smart bet, lol) then this % goes down to a much lower % (maybe 75-80%?) and you are losing 20-25% of bankroll each on avg each playthrough over time."

According to this schedule your $100 deposit would go down by $20 leaving you $80 after wagering $100. You would be broke when you hit $500 in wagering, on the average.

Is this correct??

In reply to Gambler 45:

I have seen articles, etc. saying that the odds of hitting the big million $ progressives in B&M casinos is in the range of 1/3million or more. Kinda like hitting the lottery.

Of course it depends on what jackpot amount the machine is set to payout at on average.
Example: $1 Wheel of Fortune set to payoff at maybe $1mill would have odds as mentioned above.
Where say Cash Splash (MG), may be set to pay out at $20m on avg. so odds would be much less than above.

Scaven, you asked:
"exactly what does the payout % mean, does it mean that you will (for a 97% payout) only lose 3% of you deposit if you play enough hands (or for a certain period of time for all users playing it)?"

It means that over a period of time (thousands and thousands of spins), you will lose on average 3% of your bankroll each time you play it through!!! Its like compounded interest in reverse.

Plus, the 97% figure includes the top jacpot payout. This happens on avg. 1/1mill spins or more i beleve. If you assume you wont hit top jackpot during your session (a smart bet, lol) then this % goes down to a much lower % (maybe 75-80%?) and you are losing 20-25% of bankroll each on avg each playthrough over time.

And that's what it is all about. Play on normal slots and odds of winning are fairly reasonable. If you are going for the biggy (i.e. progressive jackpot) I guess the chances are slimmer. Just an educated guess.

Got2Bet,

Your right! My mistake. The odd's for a 6/49 lottery are 1 in 13,983,816. That's a VERy small chance of winning.

But mind you when ur only buying a $1.00 ticket, you cant buy the farm.
Thanks,
jamie

There are no fixed odds for any slot machine that I know of. The short answer is simply because they are random - or at least they're supposed to be.

By the way, the odds on any 6/49 Lotto game is nearly 14 million to one, not 8 million.

I wonder too. I've seen cash splash hit at about 50,000 one time, then saw where it was just hit at around 20,000 one time. I wonder what determines when?
I also wonder if you just keep playing long enough on a straight slot, if you have a better chance of hitting. I've never been bold enough to say, run a 1000 dollars thru, hoping to hit something big. I usually hit something right away or I get out.

Hi,

While it is great that you have all answred my questions I was looking for more like 1 in NUMBER odds. FOr example, the odds of winning the Canads 6/49 is 1 in 8 million. So what are the odds for winning the Progressive Jackpot? Like 1 in 1 million, 1 in 500,000...does anyone know?
THanks

I know the payback for 5c multiline slots for several land based casinos in my area is 90%. The technicians check the theoretical percentage against the actual. Just be there when they open the door.

DizzyD,
I am sure that number is the overall payback of all games combined.

The highest payback i have ever heard of for slots at a B&M over a period of time is 96%.

The ast majority in AC,Conn,Ind,Mo,Miss, etc are about 90-93% and those are stand alone games not progressives.

Bottom line, slots will get you long term, but they sure can be fun.

Click Pricewaterhouse emblem on MG casino homepages and you will get return rate. Usually around 96% to 97%

I think spearmasters guess at 90% will be about right for when the slots are reset.

But if you only play when the jackpot reaches a high level then you'll be playing at a higher % return.

It's just a shame we can't get the inside info - ie. at what point does CashSplash turn into 100%+????

Take a guess, only $1 entrance fee

$25,000
$50,000
$75,000
$100,000
$150,000
$250,000
$500,000

On normal slots, I think the payback is around 95%. Don't know about the progressives but I don't think it would be lower than 90% at a MG casino.

Given that CashSplash is hit once-twice daily, and most progressives in B&M casinos quite a few days in between, I think the comparison probably isn't too accurate.

My online gambling bible says house ig. for jacks or bettor 9-6 is 0.5%. 8-5 is about 3%.

Diz the last time I checked the only ig the Wiz cites are landbased casinos.Because I rarely play slots gave it a quick read but noted that the best he tested gave the house a 6% edge.Which is ugly. But apparently it pays the bills.

Neither is really a good bet (but who am i to talk, lol).

In this case, you are better off playing the regular slots if your goal is to play longer.

If your goal is to just go for the big hit, then play the progressives.

Hi,

So do you think my odd's are better playing a regular slot machine or should I play a progessive?

Hmm..

Thanks,

I believe I have read that in BMs that have stand alones at around 92% that the progressives are around 80-82%. If so, would assume approx the same on MG progressives but am not sure about this.
