David Washington,
Let’s play game about true or false.
Jenna's Casino, BetVegas Casino, Bikini Beach Casino and Allman Casino trough Intercontinental casino has all been loosing deals for you.
Porn and gambling are ery good business on the net, but there are no success in combining them.
New York casino is also a loosing deal now days.
USA Casino has ery few players and are heavily depending on big bonuses and expensive marketing to keep olume up.
In fact you are struggling to survive and now you need to do something radical.
You think lower royalty percentage will let you pocket money.
You want a software that can be rigged so you can steal money from your customers. Boss media wont let you do that but Playtech will.
You have lost most of your clientele during the last 1-2 years. Your actual economic situation and the cash-flow you now getting is that bad that players deposits are no longer safe. This just like other inte... | | Read Entire Entry |

Curious -
I don't have much to do with the Bingo side of things, but for your information ICC do run a couple of bingo sites and information on the software is offered on the new ICC corporate website which will be going up at some point today.
Thanks,

I have to agree with Zrapture's comments. I do think Boss is fair, but I really hate the software:
- it is slow to load, and often will not load at all.
- interface is clunky, slow and annoying to play, esp. the mulit-player ersion.
- poor game selection, and bad rules for their BJ game on multi-player ersion, and terrible VP schedules.
- average to downright bad customer service. Webdollar is one big pain in the ass if you ask me. I've had numerous problems with them.
- Boss casinos are ery tight with comps. I've played off-bonus at a number of Boss sites with an average bet in the $25 range, and received ONE bonus of $25. Give me a break! Piss poor bonuses and no cashback. With that kind of treatment, it's not hard to see why players don't return to Boss sites.
Game selection isn't that much of an issue for me, as I play BJ and VP almost always, but slots are king in this business, and Boss has no slot selection to speak of.
Unfortunately,... | | Read Entire Entry |

David Washington,
According to Boss CEO, he thought it was a matter of price, and that you seem to be more into Bingo for some time now. Comments?
Also you seem to own the domain bingofun.com but I have not found who is the software provider for it, could you tell?

David Washington; Jepp, if you give away promotions instead of the royalties you used to pay for good software I´ll always be loyal to you ;-) (Regarding alue for players).
zrapture; Don´t you think it´s a bit narrowminded to judge a software by the percentage you´ve been paid? 97% is unlucky but far from impossible given your number of hands.
To me theres only two really important aspects of casino software:
* Nice looking, acceptably fast playing software that incorporate Black Jack and the common ersions of poker.
* Trustworthy RNG.
In my opinion Boss is the leader in both these areas.

Offi,
As I said before, I cannot discuss the commerical aspects of the decision but I can say that the reasons for our move and the motivation behind it are covered fully in our press release, which makes no reference to costs or royalties. We feel that the Playtech software really does offer a great experience and gives us a wide range of tools to provide excellent alue and service to our players.
The sportsbook link was there so that we could give players the opportunity to use a sportsbook and was a straight-forward affiliate partnership.
Thanks,
David Washington

I personally feel Boss is a little overated.
For those Boss lovers out that what exactly is so great. They have ery limited game selection. Some of the games they so have are below par, like VP and Slots. They do have some good table games and quality ecash. But I would expect more then that from a supplier that considers itself top notch. Their software looks ery pretty but could use some major improvements.
BTW I wagered about 17,000 hands and about $130,000 or total wagers at BM BJ and the house edge is roughly 3% form my results. They have overall been the least fair other then ezecash sites from my personal experience. The online gambling world lost a few potential customers from some interested family members watching me get smoked at some Boss sites. I chose to play that in front of them because it looks so good, unfortunitely results didn't match the beauty.
All that being said I've seen enough positive feedback regarding Boss BJ to believe they are fair and that it's just one ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Could you clarify why you left Boss. If it is for royalty reasons, just say yes or no. i do not need the exact numbers. I am aware of most of the developers conditions. If it was not royalty it would be interesting for me to hear the reason. Software development?
How is the connection to gobet.net,World Gaming and Sportingbet? (betandtrade.com, Global Sports Network, All Sports Casino)

I am sure the reason for InterContinental is the same as Sunny Group as well as English Harbour.
They´ve built strong brand names using established software and now they hope they can keep their players but pay lower royalties by changing to cheaper software.
I believe it´s a high risk thing to do. In a few years the really big landbased operations will be online. I´m sure they will chose among the best softwares available. For groups like Sunny and Intercontinental their chances of winning the competition against the Goliaths won´t exactly increase by using inferior software.

Offi,
Just to respond quickly to a couple of points - I will try and get through futher issues over the next few days so please bear with me - Intercontinental Casino, Jenna's Casino, BetVegas Casino, Bikini Beach Casino and Allman Casino will merge with New York Casino as of Wednesday 8th May. Secondly, regarding the issue of cost, I'm sure you'll understand why I won't go into any details with regard to commercial aspects of the move. I will try to answer queries over the course of this week but I won't be able to isit the forum too frequently due to time restrictions - I hope forum members understand.
Thanks,

I am with you regarding their software.
I wouldn´t wonder if Playtech is simply cheaper. Co´s like Playtech and iChance are currently breaking up the market with price dumping. If it works out for them? Don´t know. Quality will lack. Currently established software providers have problems to get their biz profitable and they are charging more then the newbies. I expect some of these newbies to show up only for a short time.
You are also right on Boss focus. They needed long enough to put out java which is currently only running at Atlantis if I am correct. Now they are going to kick it in favour of Shockwave. Lots of development for nothing.
Their Jackpot server was scheduled for Q4 originally. Then for the beginning of Q1 and now within Q2. 7 weeks to go. Poker, Bingo, Lotto, new casino ersion, shockwave, back-end improvements etc. Lots of stuff.
But CRYP and WG are doing the same.
CRYP is on Bingo currently, they are also late on Littlewoods and other top... | | Read Entire Entry |

I have a ery high opinion of the people behind the Bossmedia interface, and although Intercontinental has jumped ship, I am sure Boss will persevere. My personal opinion is that the Boss software is an outstanding product which is far superior to Playtech's excuse for a casino. Also, Boss gives the player a fair game, and certain people I trust believe that Playtech does not.
The problem is that the principals at Boss are concentrating thier efforts on TOO MANY different projects all at the same time, instead of focusing on thier 3 most important objectives:
1) Selling casino licenses.
2) Improving the multiplayer capabilities of
the software/networking multiplayer games.
3) Creating a jackpot server
They need to refocus thier strategies and get thier act together quickly. But I am still optimistic about thier future, and would not rule out buying into the stock.

Jetset:
First of all they had some good cash increase for Q1. It needed me some time to figure out where it came from. Looks like from reserves with CC processors. The cash will let them live some quarters but I think you also would not consider the below as too good:
USA and New York Casinos Re-launch with Playtech Software
ST JOHN'S, Antigua, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- InterContinental Casinos (ICC), owner of two of the most reputable and established casinos on the Internet has announced plans to re-launch both casinos with exciting new software provided by Playtech N.V.
The new software will increase the number of games from 12 to 49, adding many new features for players including instant access to detailed game histories, close-up modes for slots and card games and powerful tools to enable loyal players to be rewarded automatically.
Questioned about the decision, ICC's Group Casino Manager, David Washington said: "Over the past 6 months, we have reviewed our e... | | Read Entire Entry |

Revenues for Boss are down significantly since some quarters. So it more looks like they do not have the CC situation under control.

I would be a bit leary investing in online casino stocks right now since there is a decent chance the US will outlaw online gambling. The US represents the majority of online gaming revenue so this would have a drastic effect on the industry.
There is a shift towards more european and asian revenue, but the US still is and would continue to be the largest online gaming market.
But it does seem like Boss is particularly well situated to handle this situation if/when it does arrive. They already offer at least one non-us casino which is presumably successful (atlantis).
How likely do you all think it is that the US will ban online gambling in the next 1-3 years?
And if they do ban it, would people in the US significantly cut back on their online gambling?

Yup 2002, Spear!
If Boss starts showing profitablity near end of this year, I may start investing in thier stock. I believe thier will be a major surge in thier profits ery soon, and I want to be in on the action.
At the same time I will be gambling at thier casinos as well. Its a total WIN-WIN. As a player I win, as an owner I win.
I win.

Gee....
Maybe the next level will be
that you can plant a "chip" in your
head, and just by "thinking" you
can place a bet online.
Wouldn't that be wonderful???

End of 2002, you mean I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of that for a few months now - but frankly they've been swamped and I've been too busy. But I bought a new PDA specifically for testing the new PDA casinos. Hopefully I will be testing the software shortly!

Also, if you read Bossmedia 2001 annual report, you'll see that they have a fully devloped PDA casino which will offer multiplayer bj and roulette. This PDA/cell phone casino is in its final testing stages. I am unsure whether it will be made public by the end of 2001.
But what a phenominal development. I am always "on the go" and would be playing all the time.
