LOL...so true. Do you remember the Cynthia Haines case? For newbies out there...this was a case where Ms Haines refused to pay her Mastercard bill of around $100,000 that she had gambled away. The credit card company sued, she in turn sued the credit card company arguing they loaned her money for gambling..an illegal act in 50 states, thus they were responsible.
Much to my disbelief and shock at the time, she won. Remembering that story, I can somehow understand credit card companies being a little leary. I personally have never used a credit card to gamble....I only gamble with money I already have, so if I lose it's ok....I'm not in debt - just stupid.
Paypal is a wonderful thing.

Things may just be going downhill for us Brits too. My UK issued capital one isa is being declined on a regular basis for online gambling and everytime I use my HSBC Mastercard online I get a letter from their fraud department asking me whether my card was being used fraudulently - 33 identical fraud letters turned up in one day last year
Even debit cards are being declined - my hubbies isa debit gets regularly refused - the banks seem to be forgetting exactly whose money it is here.

Thankfully Citibank here in the UK still allow you to spend your money (well theirs until you pay the bill!) how you like using their Visa card.
I've just made a couple of deposits at Spin Palace and one at iNetBet with no trouble at all.
Let's hope Citibank UK don't go the way of their American parent.

Yeah, many casinos still seem to push credit card as the main method of purchase. PayPal is often no more than a small logo at the bottom of the page.
So... unsuspected player goes through the length download and registers. Then he/she gets the confusing message that their card has been rejected. To the first-time player, that could put them off for good.
Casinos need to push PayPal more.

It may not be that bad. Many non-gamblers have PayPal accounts. Anyone who has used E-bay probably has a PP account.
Over the last few months, I've realized many of my non-gambling friends have PayPal accounts. All of them have used PP for E-bay transactions.
When my CC's started to be declined at online casinos, I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to PP. I just didn't want to go through all the hassles.
But if I wanted to play, I needed to join PP. Now that I have a PP account, I use it for many other things besides online gambling. Even if I weren't gambling online, I would still have a PayPal account.
Ecasinos will have to make an effort to get customers into PP. If they can do that, they shouldn't have a problem.
Still, depositing at online casinos isn't as easy as it used to be. The clever casinos will survive. The bad casinos will go under.
And if your casino is run by beat_them_silly and hates and blames customers for their problems as m... | | Read Entire Entry |

Citibank won't fund gambling transactions anymore, both VISA and Mastercard won't fund gambling transactions or gambling purchases ia Paypal...
Seems to me that only addicts and bonus abusers would go through all the hassle of signing up for PayPal or Neteller.
IGlobalMedia quoted as saying 90% of their business was funded ia credit card. If this is typical of the industry as a whole, there has got to be a lot of insolvent casinos out there.
