AS; OK, you might be right. Your 1/4 mil. figure, is that just a qualified guess (like mine was) or do you KNOW their license fees? I know Boss charges more than this, but my guess is that our figures are in the icinity of the real figure because of the price reductions MGS has done recently.

KX,
Goodfellows could easily owe that much and more. Giving away $50 creats a lot of damage. Imagine all those spins on the jackpots they had to ante-up without a penny in return, not to mention the bonuses they offered as well.
MGS is out the actual player winnings plus the admin for PWC, etc. Easily they are spending more than $200,000. But I think a license is 1/4 mil plus a percentage of the "take". There couldn't have been any "take" in this case.

Since the Jackpot accumulates over a period of time from all of the participating casinos, it does not come from Captain Cooks bankroll, but rather from a set-aside as the jackpot grows.
So, I don't see a problem with the payment of the monies. It is already in hand.
As for the Goodfellows license fees, MGS will lose that when they reimburse the winnings that Goodfellows owes its players. I really can't see Goof-fellows getting a "refund", it that's what you mean.

JetSet, you must be really naive if you think they really paid someone 1.5 million. It was a marketing scam. Anthony P. does not exist.

Woody, I doubt he would be prosecuted. I don't believe anyone has ever been prosecuted in the US for gambling online, I could be wrong though. I know people who have claimed winnings on their taxes from online gambling without any probelms. I think a few may have been from states that outlaw online gambling too.

"...other turnkey operators..."
I´m reading RTG. Yepp, they could sure use cleaning up. In the long run I´m sure it will be the best for them as well.
Regarding Good Fellows, what do you think happens in a case like this? Will Microgaming keep the money they collected when selling the license?

Joey -
Technically, means this is not an annuity - that is a lump sum payment due to the winner.
I really don't know if it will be cold hard cash, I highly doubt it though LOL.
Woody - good point. Don't know the exact details yet so can't confirm anything. Would like to know, though...

Anthony P. likely has an interesting problem. If he reports and pays tax on his winnings he might be prosecuted if he resides in one of the US States where Internet gambling is illegal. However failure to report this income is a felony.
I hope he pays for good legal advice with his money.

Ok, ok, who stole my name?
Seriously - that's a hell of a jackpot. Paid in cash, too.
And before you get skeptical, n - there will be proof positive soon. I am 100% certain of this.

Just returned from a business trip to find a press release reporting that the Magic Millions progressives has been won with a jackpot of over one and a half million dollars.
Unfortunately the release from Jackpot Madness does not give any details on the winner - anyone know anything more about him or her?
