Bonuslover, I'm afraid you're wrong there. Pai Gow Poker does not in the slightest resemble Pai Gow tiles. The name is a total misnomer.
In Pai Gow, your object is to play two pairs of tiles and make nines or special pairs. The only resemblance to Pai Gow Poker (2,5) is that you play front hand against front hand, back hand against back hand - and of course the same could be said about Chinese Poker, where you are playing hands of 3,5,5.
This is the only common trait the three games share. After that, Pai Gow Poker and Chinese Poker are much more closely related.

Pai Kow has been around for about 100 years and has been losing popularity among the Chinese. Pai Kow Poker is NOT a modified ersion of Chinese Poker (a.k.a. 13 Cards), but of Pai Kow, in which dominoes are used instead of cards.
A few rules are shared between Chinese Poker and Pai Kow Poker but I would say they are VERY different when it comes to strategies. The game has its roots in Hong Kong and is still ery popular. IMO it is a good game to play even between friends as there is no bluff in the game (if correctly played...they might have modified it to fit Western's taste in tigergaming though)

Quite true, Woody - I have yet to see a house ersion of Chinese Poker. Pai Gow Poker, however, has both ersions.
The question is, which one is derived from the other? Pai Gow Poker is less than 20 years old - I was amongst the first to play it when it was introduced to the California card clubs.
Theoretically, however, it would be easy to create a house ersion of Chinese Poker - simply cut a percentage on winnings bets in the same manner.
Bonuslover - exactly, it's a poker room, not really a casino.

I just found out that place is more like a poker room than a casino.
The house makes money not as the bank, but by charging seat rent.

Chinese poker is a recognized poker game played with a standard 52 card deck. Four players each get 13 cards and set hands of 5, 5 and 3 cards in decreasing alue. All hands are then compared and the payoff is made according to an agreed betting amount.
You might call this a modified ersion of Pai Gow but I have never seen it as a banked game.

I am not going to wait for the bonus.
I just found out their link to erisign is a alid one and the software is something dishonest casinos can't afford.
My only concern is how many have already joined?

Actually I thought the site looked simple but appealing and efficient, and certainly contains plenty of information. I didn't know that the Las Vegas From Home people were supplying those games, either, and they've introduced a couple of novel ideas into their multiplayer concept.
The Support is only available 0900-2100 EST.
Bonuslover, you get your bonus at some stage - on their promo page they say they have some on the way.

Actually, I might try it now.
I wonder how they count the "points" in Chinese Poker if the house wins with straight flush or something.
But they don't have no bonus...it is against my religion to join a casino with no bonus.

LOL..
I prefer Cho Dai Di (Big 2) myself, but perhaps that's because I used to play it day and night (and get my butt kicked).
Chinese Poker is just a modified ersion of Pai Gow Poker - or perhaps Pai Gow Poker really is a modified ersion of Sup Sam Cheung.
In any case I am glad to see some of these Asian games beginning to appear. Now if someone would create a decent ersion of Mah Jong... or even the arcade ersions... every one I've seen so far has not been so good.

Just found out about this website www.tigergaming.com yesterday through an email from them (via another list I'm a part of) and I really enjoyed playing there.
They right now only offer Chinese Poker and Big2 Poker. I hadn't really heard of these before but once I tried them out and played a little I really enjoyed it.
For anyone interested look for me.
Cheers!
