You can also load Anti-Trojan onto your pc. I was surprised how many trojans it found on mine when I first loaded it, even though I already had anti-virus and a firewall.

There are things called BACKDOOR trojans and/or WORMS that can infiltrate your computer while you are online. The likelihood of this happening to you is mostly determined by the lack of any security or antivirus software installed on your computer, latest service paks (see Microsofts site, service paks are free downloads) AND whether or not you are online all day (T1, 3, DSL, etc.). If you have to establish an internet connection (like dial up) whenever you go online, your chance of getting hit are greatly reduced.

Get an up to date Anti Virus program installed, update it (follow their instructions) and scan your computer. If it's a good product, it will detect these worms or at least warn you of the existence of a security flaw on your system, if applicable.

You DON'T have to know anybody from Israel for this to happen, IF it really did.

This is what they sent me after two weeks of "investigation".

"We would like to inform you that in collaboration with Microgaming Systems we have been investigating your case.

Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying to your query, unfortunately a case like this required an intensive investigation.

Please find attached an activity log which tracks the logins for your account srXXXXXXXXXX. The logins highlighted in RED where made from a separate PC. We presume that the purchase in question took place during this login as shortly thereafter you changed your password.

We’ve found out that the logins done on the 13th and 15th came from an IP in Israel. Clicking in the link from below you’ll be able to do a search of the IP address:

It seems as someone, with your login name and password, logged in your casino account from a different PC and made a purchase. Please note that any family member and/or friend could have done this.

Ever use Kazaa, Gator, or Napster?

You could have scumware on your computer sending your info out, if you store passwords, credit numbers etc on your machine.

That's pretty sophisticated, though.

Don't answer, but consider: if you use the same account name, password, and cc info at other casinos, any of them could have leaked the information.

Also to consider is the source of your debit card. Whoever did this must have also had plans for getting the money out, which argues for an inside job as well.

Newsflash!!! They finally told me that someone from Israel logged into my account and made the purchase attempts. I'm no computer wiz, but how could this happen? I thought that all this banking info was encrypted and all that. Are we really this ulnerable when we gamble online? They say that it's my fault. Is this even possible? Anybody know?

Before this code was required for a lot fo deposits, I read somewhere that it meant that someone could find out your balance and other banking info if they knew this code. Is this true?

I agree. I thought everything was safe in a MG system. What about IP capture? I have pleaded with them to let me know what IP address the purchase attempts came from. They just simply won't tell me anything.

A lot of banks have the requirement that the c c code not be recorded or stored at all in any form.

Just a little trivia there.

Shoot me down in flames if you like, but I thought the CVV number was encrypted and that only the last 4 digits of registered Credit/Debits cards were accessible by casino staff. I would ery much doubt if some CSR could just write all your CC details down and go play on YOUR account...it doesnt make sense anyway as YOU would get the winnings and not them.

Hey all. Just a warning, but on 4/15, I get home from work, check my email, and I find that someone tried to purchase $200.00 on my debit card at Vegas Slot Casino. It absolutely did not originate from my computer. I checked my windows logs just to be certain. After numerous emails to the accounts department, EProcessing, and even Microgaming, I still can't get an answer. No one higher up than a CSR has even replied. Whoever it was had to have my user name, my casino password, my card number, and the CVV2 number. In other words, it had to be from inside the casino. What kind of sorry outfit is this? I can't wait until the magic three weeks is up, so I can get Gambling Grumbles, Casinomeister, Spearmaster, AS, Gamtrak, and anybody else that will listen to me to go after them. DELETE YOUR CREDIT CARDS FROM THIS CASINO ASAP!!!!! It's no wonder that online gambling is about to (sadly) come to an end. It's because of casino operators like this.
