The multi-player black jack has a much worse house advantage than the single-player ersion. The old software is 0.13% the new software is 0.39 for single player. For multi-player you are facing a 0.57% house advantage. You will lose your money four times faster than with the single deck single-player game. Couple that with poor basic strategy and you are probably giving up well in excess of 1% to the house maybe even two or three percent. It is not surprising that you are running into more bad streaks than good.

Im not so sure how close to real game of blackjack online casinos are, on the whole. I found it hard to belive that so many of my 2 x 10's were drawn against a blackjack, the figure was well above 28.75%.

Hi Tfx - I think he's just trying to say that the Basic Strategy rule is "Never take Insurance." (There are a few exceptions on the Internet, though).
You're right - it doesn't effect the outcome of the cards but, since the side-bet of insurance effects your balance, it effects the House Advantage. Basically, you will lose about 6% of your total insurance bets.
Essentially you are betting you will win 1 of every 3 insurance bets but you will only win 15 out of every 49 if you have a natural and 16 of 49 if you don't have a natural or a 10.
I don't play the multi-player game but, as always, make sure you know the right Basic Strategy for the rules of the game you are playing. There is a different BS for every different set of rules.

Taking insurance with 2 10s on a single deck BJ is one of the worst mistake you can make.
Dealer's chance of getting BJ is only 28.57% so 71.43% of the time your insurance bet is wasted.
What does it mean? For every dollar you put as insurance this way, you should and will loose 7 cents. With 7% house edge I'd say it's almost as worse as slot machine.
BJ is a game of skill. You must play by basic strategy exactly to minimize your loose. If you don't follow BS your outcome will be ery terrible for sure.
People play by BS enjoy a house edge of 0.5% and experience less "bad luck" while people play by gut's feeling suffers a house edge of 5-10% and loose everything. It's that simple.

heh ttt you got me there.
Does taking insurance affect the outcome of other cards? I dont see how taking insurance affects basic strat; it only affects my balance and Im not drawing that in to question. A card game cant get angry at me for taking insurance.
What is your point?

"saving myself because I take insurance everytime if I might win the hand anyway"
Hmmmm......how many other diversions from basic strategy to you do. Could be the reason for your 'bad streak'.

Well, it was intresting to say the least... I dont think I have come across anything so streak in my life and overall ery poor game play. How I managed to make it out alive with the bonus and then some I'll never know.
The casino I just played at is red32.
I actually played through 2 bonuses, the £100 bonus and the 32 match monthly bonus. Supringly the £100 bonus went without too much of a hitch other than being able to spot some laughable hands (I would say over 80% of the time that it gave me 2 10's against a dealer ace the dealer would go and get blackjack only saving myself because I take insurance everytime if I might win the hand anyway; doubles and splits were complete lies too and would be intrested in seeing the %). The 32 monthly bonus...boy it did not want to give anything up. Ended up losing the stake after clawing my way back a few times. I could have quit when my stake was in tack but the results were so horrible I had to stay to see how far it would last. In the end it ... | | Read Entire Entry |
