What NDD said.
Everyone thinks they're quite smart by using the "RNG" to refer to the randomness or lack thereof of a software.
It make ZERO difference. The only good reason to use hardware to generate an RNG is to help protect against hacking attempts. Pseudo-RNGs generated by software are for all intents and purposes as random as the ones generated by hardware, unless a hacker were to discover that the seed is generated by an internal clock, and then be able to recreate that internal clock to 1/1000th of a second.
And Ken correctly pointed out that Boss are using Geiger counters to create the RNG.
The ONLY difference is that one is an analog source, and one a digital source. You can hardly affect the radioactivity of the atmosphere to the point where you could measure it to the billionth of a part.
Enough talk about RNGs. If you think a software is rigged, say it's rigged, or biased, or that the software routines are fixed or buggy or wh... | | Read Entire Entry |

I've had mixed results at Gold Club, betting $10 per hand. Some days I lost like there was no tomorrow, and other times had decent winnings of a couple hundred or so.
Now, as for Pharoah's Casino single deck............................let me tell you, every single time I tried braving this form of blackjack debauchery...I was MURDERED like a b*tch on a scalpel.

As my wife once said (as we discussed online casinos): "It's not how big your RNG is, it's what you do with it. "
Just because a casino professes to having an RNG, how does anyone know what they do with its "output." You mean you believe what they TELL YOU? Once again ... Onine casinos are only software, no different then that buggy stuff you run on your own home PC .... as in the recent case of RTG MH VP, so what if they have an RNG .... did that change the fact they were redealing cards? OK, so maybe it meant the redealt cards were "random" (assuming you believe any of these RNG fairytales). If they want to cheat, then can, random cards or not. And if they DON'T cheat at the games, they will steal your money in other ways ......

The biggest joke of a blackjack game I ever played was Pharoahs casino, "single deck".
Casino Bar could take lessons in cheating from BossMedia.
Hell yeah! BM is the worst of this breed! Playing BJ (Mutihand or Singledeck) at a place like Gold Club is like playing Slots with a 30%+ HA.

BJinfos right.
Boss apparently used a decaying source one, a poster claimed that it could be decoupled from the system and a software RNG used instead too.
I reckon the best system is where casino management cant touch the rng, and the gameserver gets fed numbers by an 'external authorities' rng server.
Not exactly rocket science in a serverfarm setup nowadays.
You also have to keep management away from anything that affects the link between the rng output and the dealt result, like what happened with casoinobar.
This is much harder to achieve, because each software provider is so unique.
That's why many players like the truegambler approach, because it records the actual dealt outputs to the player.
TG might have bugs to sort, but its potential is obvious.

Boss Media claims to have done this since the beginning.
From the Gold Club site,
Quote:
Gold Club's casino games are based on genuine random numbers. To ensure fairness in the online game results, a Geiger-Müller Tube Detector is employed. This system measures minute and random changes in natural background radiation and guarantees random number generation.

If my memory served, future bet use such a device for their RNG. Too bad these casinos have a history of no pay or slow pay.
I don't know about the rest.

Online casino's are unbiased and all when it comes to the random numbers. There have been disputes about software random number generator's just not being random. In theory, they aren't random, as the so-called random numbers are based on the algorithm's of the computer's they run on.
However, they have hardware devices out there that simply eliminate any disputes, as they are titled "True Random Number Generators". They cost in the range of 200 to 2000 dollars, and generate "true" random numbers because it's based on white noise or radioactive decay.
So, would it not make more sense for a ONLINE CASINO to get it's randomness from a commercially availible RNG-system instead of something software oriented?! But I've never seen a online casino run a HARDWARE RNG instead of a SOFTWARE RNG.
Can someone name a online casino that gets it's random numbers from a external hardware RNG?
