All,
I'm sorry to hear that many of you are still having problems with the download, as this is almost as frustrating for us as it is for you.
Whilst every effort is made to test the software on a ariety of platforms systems, etc. because of the nature of PC technology we cannot legislate for every PC configuration in existence.
I will freely admit that the download and installation problems is a constant thorn in our side and is something that we are continually trying to improve, however we need your help by emailing your problems with as many details as possible (e.g. internet connection, OS, other applications running, etc.) as well as any install.log or error.log files in the installation directory.
Without this information it is incredibly difficult for us or our developers to replicate these problems that you are experiencing. If anyone does send in these details and we can subsequently fix the problem we are more than willing to compensate for the inco... | | Read Entire Entry |

I was having problems downloading the software as well a couple of days ago, probably tried 5 times. Today I thought I'd try again for fun and it worked, yippie, unfortunately it is still the same crap software, but at least I know payments will be lightning quick and the CS repsonsive.
Stanley Manager, have you guys considered updating your software to a faster, less choppy game? If you did that I'm sure your casino would be one of the more popular ones on the net.
Cheers

Enough is enough Mr. Humphries!!
If you have even the slightest hope of doing business here in the United States you'd better hire a programmer here in the United States to design and engineer R-E-L-I-A-B-L-E software that can (at the ery least) be loaded on to a computer.
Today marks the tenth (10) time that I've attempted to download your software and still it's proven to be nothing short of an abhorrent failure.

I do hope the download "bugs" get fixed- I have had to give up on crockfords and stanleys due to the time and (apparently) inevitable error message after the attempt at download.
Mr Humphries- any chance you can loosen up the VP when you fix the bugs- I hear great things about your blackjack but your Video Poker is the tightest I have played.

Today I successfully installed the new software.
But it's so slow enough to irritate me.
Are there any means to accelerate the software ?
I think the software developer is a little backward.

Luckystrike and thebombshiznit sorry to hear about the problems that you are having installing the new software. Although there weren't any problems with this during testing there does seem to be a problem now.
I've passed this issue on to our developers to investigate and fix, but in the meantime I'd be grateful if you could email in the install log files in the Crockfords installation directory (the default is C:\Program Files\Crockfords). Email them to online.support@stanleycasinos with Installation Problems in the subject line.
I'll keep you all posted as soon as I have some more information.

Hi Stanley Manager, I have a fairly new computer and when I try to download your casino I get the same message as luckystrike, "The installation has failed. Please try again later or contact customer services..."
Whats the deal? Is there something I need to do to allow it to download??

rng on your computer = pseudo random (it's random, but given thousands enough years and super computers, you could possibly find a pattern)
rng on the casinos side = hardware based true random probably using the radioactive decay of some harmless radio-isotope. there's no way to predict the output of this RNG, not in a million-billion years and with all the computer power in the world.
Can you tell the difference from how the game plays depending on which RNG it uses? No

hey... I see the manager has changed - Where's Andy Anyway I think there are still improvements to be made with usability and stability of the software - when I just tried to install the software on my AMD2000 - Win2000 - IE6, I got this error: The installation has failed. Well as for stanley acropolis itself, there 6 decks, but they get shuffled after 33%(according to gamemaster site) penetration.
The betting range is rather limited it is 5-100.
Dont know about US players.
As for Crockfords (same company, stanley) the limits are higher, but dont know excactly cause their software doesnt start up at my computer.
However they told me that January 27th they will have new software for Crockfords which probably will run better on peoples computer.

Stanley Casinos are highly reputable. The software is clunky and slow, but for payments and customer service they can't be beat. They process payments to neteller in a matter of hours. They have decent sign up bonuses as well, Crocksfords is 150/150 wager 3000.

I get two acation because I am retired and it is hard to know when/where I am. The retirement bonus is from working for a top notch company for many years and maxing the 401K plan. As already noted please improve your VP paytables.

Tedm,
It's nice to read your comments about our levels of service, as anyone who has played with us will know we are constantly trying to improve our service levels and we never sit back on our laurels in that respect.
I think though you must be a mind reader. I am just in the process of announcing our new toll free numbers for our customers who live in North America and UK.
As a sneak preview those numbers are for US & Canada 011 800 00 321 321
And for UK customers 00 800 00 321 321.
As far as the new software is concerned I will be keeping those invited players up to date with progress on a regular basis and it will be a case of Stanleyacropolis players will get "first sight" as a way of saying thank you for sticking with us.
As always I am always keen to hear comments and criticisms of our software and service. People can always contact me ia email or on this board which I monitor whenever I have time.

Wasn't SA 4 S17 decks with RTG split / double rules? If so, 0.4% comps is a rather nice game.
Serious about gambling? That may be a contradiction in terms.

I am beating a dead horse here but you absolutely have to play at this place if the software is good.
These guys have been in business for decades. They know how to treat gamblers. They don't fool around with payouts. They don't make excuses. They even had a nice 2:1 BJ promo (which I somehow lost a lot of money on) last year and they paid EVERYONE to my knowledge without hesitation.
If you are a bonus hunter then by all means go for the Sci-Fi's or the 1cnp's and try to pick up your lousy $50 or whatever.
If you are serious about gambling though then I don't think there is any place that can hold a stick to these guys.
Once again, I repeat, IF the software is good.

I forgot to mention the customer service.
Super-fast responses to my e-mails (under 5 minutes generally). They do have a support number but I think it is a long-distance call to UK. It would be nice to have a 1-800 as well. Still, I think there CS is great.
FYI, I would have given them far more action in the past but their interface is/was just nasty. Here's hoping they have made some huge changes!
