Yes, you're right GG - these are much more recent and do not paint a happy picture.

Here's another one about Slots Royale from Oct 2003, possibly before the "Our Better Nature" policy.

That list was taken from another complaint thread from late Nov/early Dec 2003. They're still at it. The complaint was about Rivernile, a sister joint.

These are the same tactics used by Grand Banks/Black Widow/Sterling House, who went from RTG to Playtech. I don't uderstand the reticence to "Rogue" Golden Riviera (Microgaming). If anything they're worse.

"Jetset, given what GG was able to pull up, how do you explain that this group is not on a rogue list. I have to assume that some people are slow payed. But those that don't stay with it or know how to contact a mediater are no payed."

The short answer to that is that I can't, Bart although that question is probably better directed to one of the better portals who carry such lists. Bryan B comes to mind. I don't have a website.

Without defending GR, the last of those threads GG commendably pulled up was a year old and perhaps more recent examples would give a better indication as to whether this operator is still playing silly buggers.

Nevertheless I would agree with you that a cynically applied slow-pay policy does prejudice the less determined owed player and that is to be condemned in the strongest terms no matter how old the complaint. And why should even the more determined player be subjected to this sort of prolonged stress and frustration as well?

I don’t believe I’ve received a sign-up bonus from a B&M casino, but I've received the following bonuses last year from B&M casinos. This is money that is above and beyond regular cash back given to me by the casino. Best of all, there are no wagering requirements and there are no hassles when cashing the coupons.

Note that some money was extra promotion money given for arious VP hands such as for hitting certain 4 of-a-kinds. Other money was given as a promotion for earning a certain number of points over the course of the year. However, this money is all separate from regular cash back:

Racino - $10.00
Borgata - $5.00
NYNY - $200.00
NYNY - $200.00
Borgata - $45.00
Borgata - $15.00
TI - $598.00
Bellagio - $150.00
TI - $250.00
Borgata - $100.00
Showboat - $5.00
Showboat - $15.00
Borgata - $85.00

The last few royals I hit on land were indeed in Mississippi, had to pay taxes on the spot. I thought other jurusdictions started doing that as well. Guess I was wrong. Phoenician pays in less then 15 minutes, they can be faster then waiting in cashier window sometimes

mtowler,

I was also ordered by Golden Riveria to get a notarized letter from my bank before they would pay me by ACH. I'm sorry to tell you that even after you go through all that trouble in all likelihood they will still continue to lie and delay payment.

In my case, after 3 months of continual BS I finally went to fairbet.org for help. They do have some influence with them and got my payment sent out within a few days.

I also agree that it is about time that Golden Riviera be put on all the prominent rogue casino lists. They've been getting away with their crap for way too long.

If one of the watchdogs would actively put them on their rogue list I think it would send a strong message. If they need a nomination, so moved.

Dirk, how many land based casinos offer sign-up bonuses? I know of about 40 casinos that always pay and offer 100% sign-up bonuses between $50-$275. However, it is true that you get free lung cancer at land based casinos ia their free second hand smoke program not to mention the free DWI's they offer when you leave after taking advantage of their free drinks. Oh wait, DWI's are not free nor are the drinks, unless you are in Vegas.

Thanks to all for the info. I think I see their game. They want to drage out the payment as long as possible. I will play along until I get my money. and then take my play some place else.

Godd Luck to all.

Golden Riviera and its sisters River Nile and Miami Paradise does indeed have a sad reputation for slow paying (and great sleuthing, there GG!) and whilst I condemn that I am afraid that I cannot accept the following statement made by Dirk:

"The fact is there are only two or three honest online casinos. The rest either use cheating software or refuse to pay you."

There are far too many crooked casinos out there for anyone's comfort, but that statement of fact is way too sweeping and inaccurate for me to believe.

What two or three casinos do you then regard as OK, Dirk? Zrapture may have been a little hard on you earlier in this thread but there is some truth in what he says about the unbalanced negativity in your posts.

Dirk also says "Security is just an excuse and has almost nothing to do with the process" about which I also have some doubts, given the known dangers of fraud on the Internet and in this industry in particular. I am prepare...

In all U.S. B&M casinos players receive a W2-G form for any slot/VP win $1200 or higher. You won't pay any taxes on the spot (except in Miss. and maybe in other, smaller gambling markets). No big deal. It only takes a few minutes for the form and your money to arrive, and you know you will be paid.

The same thing goes for waiting in line to cash your chips or coins. It may take a few minutes, but you will be paid, no question.

But no online casino can match that.

The fact is, almost all online casinos will run winners (and many losers) through a number of time consuming and tedious processes just to receive the money that rightfully belongs to the player. And many online casinos still give players grief even when they meticulously follow the erification procedures to the letter (just read the threads on this site for proof).

Online casinos do this primarily to tire out the player in the hopes that he or she will return and lose their money. Security is jus...

Stick to land-based casinos in regulated jurisdictions. You won't be cheated and all you have to do to receive your winnings is walk up to the cashier and cash in your coins and chips. No fuss, no muss, and you're paid within minutes. No online casino can match that.

Dirk, you are so agenda driven these days it's sad and pathetic. Someone posts about a problem at one of the maybe 5% of Microgaming casinos that is not trustworty and then you use that as an example as why not to play? So 95 out of 100 Micro casinos pay and use that as an example of a typ...

If you look at the threads posted by Gamblegirl, you will see that many others said the same thing long before you.

I am amazed at the number of times players complain about the same rouge casinos over and over when the warnings are readily available if they had bothered to do their research first.

Nice leg work GambleGirl ... sure looks like there is plenty of reason to avoid this entire group of casinos! I wonder what percentage of people dont see the process thru - and thus what percentage of players the casino group is ripping off?

Id also say STAY AWAY from this group!

Golden Riviera has a history of slow paying winners. Sometimes they take months to pay up.

But asking for ID and utility bills is nothing new. Most online casinos ask for these items. It's a pain, but if you play online, you have to accept it. If you don't want to send these items, then you will have to avoid playing at online casinos.

They owe me $5000.00 and are coming up with all kinds of requirments to attempt to get out of paying me.
Would you send a fax copy of the front and back of your credit card?
also your drivers license and bank information.
Talk about identity theft.
They have my address already but have requested a utility bill to prove it.
I have followed their instructions regarding methods for cashing in one of which is NETeller, They have accepted money from my neteller account but now need to know that my personal bank account is in order in the form of a letter from my bank before they send money to NETeller.
AGAIN DO NOT USE GOLDEN RIVIERA CASINO.
