perhaps this site doesn't take into account sng's and multi table tourneys but still.

I've done a few spot checks, and found the site to be very accurate.
As for the difference between the Party lobby count and Poker site scout .... PSS only count cash game players, not tournament players and play money players. Also, the Party lobby simply counts the number of players who are logged in, and not all of them are playing. This will bloat the number a good deal.
