That's pretty interesting about trademarks being limited to the products you offer. It is also pretty common to see arious companies here that use trademarked names, but there is usually nothing ever said as long as they are not operating a competing business.
The reason this always comes to my mind with online casinos is because I remember a few years ago when MGM had several sites shut down for using the MGM name. But that was a little different since it was the gaming division that cut them down, so they were both casino businesses. Also, in that case, the online sites were clearly trying to capitalize on the MGM brand, and that doesn't seem to be the case with Captain Morgan's casino. I suppose they are probably safe from that particular activity.

US and European (at least UK) trademark laws are different. In the UK you can only register your trademark for a specific class of goods or services, Daigeo's trademark of Captain Morgan for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages would not stop you from operating a casino with the same name. I have no idea where Captain Morgan's Casino is operating from, if it is some Caribbean island or Central American country, I don't know what its intellectual property law is and enforcement may be difficult.
Btw, Captain Cook is also a registered trademark for fish restaurants, among other things.

Captain Morgan's - I would never leave any significant amount of money in any internet web site that is using the name of another popular brand. I'm sure the Captain Morgans brand of rum has international trademarks out the wazoo, and I would hate to have a lot of money riding in that casino only to wake up one day and find out the rum company has obtained a court order to lock down their servers and push them out of business.

To quickly revist here, I had a mail and a free bonus from treasuretombcasino this weekend just passed. I played and redeposited amd then won $170. My NETeller was paid out today from a request on Sunday. Not bad at all IMHO.

Real players can decided on what casino has good cr, fast payouts and good grafics.
What casinos has less complaints?
What casinos has fast payouts, with less hassles?
What casinos cr knows what they talking about, when it comes to there own terms.
Some of us has played all he casinos out there and some of us play everyday.
Like people go to egas, they know they need to play downtown egas andnot on the strip. newbies play on the trip cause all the nice new lights and new rooms. dont know the strip casinos has the worst odds

I suppose all the lists of the best&worst are based on the personal opinions of those who made it. And also on all the rumors that the person heard and read about the places listed.
There is hardly a top 10 that are independent and impersonal.

Thanks for asking, I will try to shed some more light on our ranking criteria. To begin with, we approached PlayersJet from a datamining and cataloging angle. The idea being that there are over 2000 sites on the web where people can gamble, which creates a lot of confusion for a first time online gambler. So, PlayersJet is first and foremost a searchable database of all casinos, poker rooms and sportsbets online (over 800 of them currently).
Prior to developing the architecture for the site, we conducted a lot of research online. In looking around at the myriad of sites recommending casinos to prospective players, it became even more confusing (from a first time gambler's perspective) since many sites h... | | Read Entire Entry |

Blue, hi m8. To answer your question...
More bad reviews with concrete examples would've... The reviews were rather mixed however (from "people won there but never got paid" to "i won 20k there and got paid in 4k/week" (former not being based on concrete information, latter not being so bad), so decided to give them a try. By the way, lost my deposit+bonus playing $40/hand blackjack, so can't really comment on the operation. Didn't get to play too much (maybe 60 hands) before busting out either, so can't comment on the software.

Playersjet seems to be listing many rogue and/or definately rigged casinos.
However for a new site, like playersjet it might be hard to know what casinos are worth the webspace.
My word of advice is, stick with the big softwares such as Cryptologic, Microgaming, Boss Media ...

I think that is an excellent suggestion. Whether a casino is blacklisted or not should definitely be a criteria.

The biggest problem is that the whole thing is based on casino's own websites and rouge operators are good at putting up good looking websites and luring in players.
Have a look at some of the online casino blacklists, and check the casinos listed there. Some casinos use rigged software, or don't pay players, where does this show up in your trust rankings?

webber286,
If you don't mind, could you provide a more detailed breakdown of the set of "30 criteria" you have used. I see you state it is info picked up off the websites, but I assume it has to entail a good deal more than that.
I was just doing a quick look through at some of your rankings and really can't understand how they would work.
In the Poker section you have Tiger Gaming ranked at 82, a company that has had numerous slow pay problems in their past, constantly exagerrates the number of players on their system ia their email blast outs, etc., while AspinallsPoker (while not a ery busy site), is ranked as only a 77 in terms of trust. Aspinalls is the online poker room for one of the most respected bricks and mortar casino brands in the UK (and maybe the world, I'm not sure).
You have InterCasino ranked as a 77 trust factor, and Windows basically the same at 75, and you have Playtech's Carnival ranked as an 82, five points better in the trust depart... | | Read Entire Entry |

I suppose webber is being baptized here.
It's a good thing, webber. The folks here are ery critical and outspoken. Your database is quite huge and a lot to keep up. If there are things wrong with it, people here will likely find it and bring it out into the open.
I still come here regularly to learn from WOL patrons. They tell it like it is. It's a great group. You are lucky to have them look at your site.
I wish you luck - lots of work keeping all the info fresh, too.

thanks for the constructive criticism...allow me to explain a little more about our database...
when we first approached the online gambling industry, we spent several months researching the industry as a whole, from operators to news sites to other affiliate sites...and, unfortunately we found a lot of conflicting information out there (as i'm sure the mods of this board are ery aware of, thus the importance of a board such as this)...along with this, we interviewed people who we knew to be gamblers, but who had not entured online, and everyone of them had the same reservations and asked "how do i know who to trust"...this lead us to the development of the "trust ranking", which is a set of 30 criteria, weighted based on how much trust each fact found on an operators web site should account for, for instance, 24/7 toll free phone support, pricewaterhousecoopers audited payouts, and approvals from organizations like ecogra weigh heavier in the rankings...

This Playersjet database is a total mess when you start going through it; at best it doesn't help anyone and at worst it will certainly lead people who use it to the doorstep of some rogue operators.
Maybe instead of spamming the board here spend the time fixing your site.
Mods - is there anything you can do to slow this guy down from jumping into threads and posting up handfuls of hyperlinks to a "watchdog" site that has no idea who Ladbrokes is.

thank you for bringing these sites to my attention...they both were missing key information in our database...after reviewing the details of each site, the revised trust ranks for these casinos are:
luck n roll: 59
ladbrokes: 100
so as not to look like this is a random change based on your comments, let me describe how the PlayersJet trust rank works...to date over 800 sites have been reviewed and ranked against a standard set of 30 criteria...these 30 criteria are used to provide a reasonable comparison of online casinos, sports books or poker rooms, etc based on information found on their web sites...as you can imagine, inputting 800 sites based on 30 different criteria was quite a daunting task...but we felt that this was an important way to bring quality information to people considering gambling online...in addition to the trust ranking, PlayersJet also offers people the opportunity to review sites and provide personal recommendations based on their experiences...

hadn't heard of Captain Morgan's Casino before, so entered them into the PlayersJet database and in terms of a trust ranking they received a 62, which is middle of the pack for the industry, meaning there are many other places you could play where you should feel much safer in being properly treated...
for reference, this casino is also associated with Dragon Rouge which received a similar score of 65 in the PlayersJet trust ranking...
judging by this and the other postings in this thread i would go cautiously toward this casino...

Hi Bacchus,
Yes I played there, and at treasuretombcasino.com one of their sister casinos. They use a proprietary software, one that still had a few 'glitches' when treasuretomb was first up and running. The glitch I had was that a non-winning spin on one of their slots credited my balance with over $500! I knew it was a mistake and let it sit to see what would happen. They contacted me the next day about it. Reps are ery nice, even when not delivering bad news about a non-existant win. I wish I had taken a screen shot of that. They are licensed and based in Kahanawake. I thought the software OK, however have not ever requested a cashout. There are better casinos out there, better ones even in Kahnawake!

Mmmm, it did strike me as odd that I couldn't find a physical address for them on the website...
How did they "not pay" by the way - did they oid winnings due to some BS reasons, or do they just not pick up the phone/answer e-mails?
