GFED POKER TO BE PROVIDED BY TRIBECA
Provider's network now claims 130 rooms
Online poker provider Tribeca Tables Europe Ltd, inked an important deal this week to supply online poker facilities to Internet casino franchiser Gambling Federation, a business association that will enable the many GFED licensees to set up poker rooms on the Tribeca network.
Gambling Federation CEO Flaviano Fogli said, “We are extremely excited at the prospect of working with Tribeca Tables. We see all our existing casino brands benefiting from Tribeca’s poker expertise and network experience and we are looking forward to the launch and a long fruitful partnership”.
Steve Cook, European managing director for Tribeca Tables said, “We are ery pleased to welcome Gambling Federation and its family of online brands to the Tribeca network. Here's an interesting follow on story on this spyware / malware subject.
What makes me so angry regarding this sort of stuff is the apparent arrogance of online marketers who feel they have the right to invade the personal equipment of users with crap they don't want and find difficult to remove....now it looks as if some folks in the States are hitting back.
This case should be a warning to companies that dump this rubbish on our computers - if DirectRevenue is hammered it will set a ery useful legal precedent:
GOING AFTER THE SPIES
"This case is different, because it's about sneaking on to people's computers in truly underhanded ways"
eWeek.com carried a story on a topic close to many online gaming hearts this week when it reported on class action litigation just launched against the alleged Spyware king, DirectRevenue of New York.
The article has resonance with online gamblers, coming as it does on the heels of the Gambling F... | | Read Entire Entry |

Right on, Swampwitch! No amount of PR (or BS) in either case will diminish the really unacceptable conduct that these two companies have exhibited. And as we know from past incidents, that can come back and bite really hard!

Rationalization? What I see in that thread is a bunch of people having a civil debate on the issue.....and everyone's opinions are being listened to with respect.
IMHO, the guy in charge at GamFed needs to step his sorry butt down. The buck stops with him. There is no excuse good enough for messing with other people's personal property. If in fact there was a breech of security at GamFed, and player info stolen and used to spam for other casinos, I can think of at least a half dozen better ways to deal with it.
However, if I see one more post about poor Royal Dutch and how they've been ictimized.....Notice how suddenly they're not bad guys anymore? Remember RD's nasty attitude towards player complaints? Their affiliates' email spam with return bounce-backs? Their refusal to honor past debts?
GamFed and Royal Dutch both suck.

Who has communicated "publicly" their support for Gambling Federation over the last few days, coming out to say they understand, or support these actions?
And who in the industry would even privately support this - if I was another casino owner, or software company, aside from seeing a competitor in hot water, which will maybe have some trickle down benefit, this is horrible for the industry as a whole. I can't see any gaming industry executives pleased that these guys pulled a stunt like this, as the ensuing publicity will impact on the entire industry - adding one more reason for people to be wary.

How about asking if anyone ever won ANY jackpots from these thieves? Theres's a list of winner screenshots a mile long at Casinomeister's, and not one of them was hit on GF software. Is there anyone anywhere who's ever won anything big at these casinos? It's not like they're new on the scene, and it's not like they only have one casino.. they have about thirty casinos, and nobody has anything to show from any one of them that I've ever seen.

Certain individuals in this industry, and by that I mean anyone who
has gained financially by using Spam, icon drops, misinformation,
stolen information or other questionable techniques are looking
at this situation and realizing that Gfed's only mistake was
getting caught. I assure you that this kind of thing is
going on much more than we realise, and not just
by marginal outfits.

Placing malware on our computers is unacceptable and inexcusable. Only one solution is acceptable: The entire gambling community must squeeze Gambling Federation out of business. The same go for any affiliate that out of malice intends to continue to promote Gambling Federation.

Oh, so it' s ok to manipulate the web access of players who have had nothing to do with either company in the future, and it's ok to use "tactics" against competitors you decide aren't "legitimate and reputable".
That's the best defense you can come up with? Why don't you just add a module to delete all competing entertainment software off players' computers? Heck, block all the porn sites, and players will have nothing to do but gamble with you!

Its not my fault that Gambling Federation is not responsible enough to keep their customer or credit card information in a safe place. You should contacted your former employee months ago...
If I constantly get spam or unsolicited mail for a non wanted sender I just simply block him, if problem persist I report it to the proper authority. (NOT YOU)
What you did is UNETHICAL unless the player has given Gambling Federation explicit permission to do so. Absent explicit permission, this practice should be banned and Gambling Federation should be black listed in the entire web.
Creating a malicious program Flaviano Fogli is not a standard business practice its invasion of privacy.

Statement from Flaviano - CEO of Gambling Federation
Dear Members of the Forum
Gambling Federation would like to offer our response to issues raised in the Casinomeister forum entitled, “Gambling Federation Malware.”
While our actions were not justified, readers of this message thread should know that Gambling Federation is a ictim of an orchestrated attack to mislead our players. Over the past few months, we received numerous complaints from our players enquiring about unsolicited promotional e-mail delivered to a player’s e-mail address that was used only to communicate with Gambling Federation casinos. After reviewing the complaints from our players, it become apparent that one of our ex-employees was inappropriately and unethically stealing part of our player list, contacting our players and promoting non-Gambling Federation casinos.
We recognize that are actions were based on emotive judgment; we reacted to an unethical attack by applying the same philosophy wi... | | Read Entire Entry |

First off, please allow us to extend our apologies for this major issue and that the issue has been corrected.
We owe all of you an explanation regarding this.
A few months ago, we received several spam complaints from our players being sent by the domains you previously found in your host file. At first we tried to calm our players down, stating that we had nothing to do with these properties and were not responsible for their actions. However, the issue repeated itself so many times within a short time span, causing us an mass influx of complaints.
We decided, albeit foolishly, to resolve this issue by blocking the domains which cause our players grief through the software. By associating the domain to an non existent IP, the spam cannot load in the person's computer, people who where receiving the spam had the images in the spam blocked. So this protects the person from being subjected to the spam coming from those domain names. . We did not intend to ever block any o... | | Read Entire Entry |

Yes, I don't know why that microgaming cookie shows on spyware removers, but it and a lot of other cookies that show there are harmless and usually just make life on the web easier.
Some of the spyware removers have gone a little overboard - they like to brag that they detect x number of spyware units (more than the next guy) and are adding some things that are really harmless.
I have to say though that IE also blocks some microgaming cookies from being installed - you then see a little symbol with an eye on the bottom of your browser. Click it and you will learn what cookie is being blocked.
I understand this is because many programs use third party cookies - cookies that are being served from a different server. IE reacts negatively to that, and maybe that is also the reason that some spyware programs do.
All of this is harmless and the cookies are helpful, not harmful.
The trojan blocking other programs from running though - how can anyone expect... | | Read Entire Entry |

Hi Guys,
The MicroGaming item found as "Spyware" is harmless.
All it basically does is remember your account number in your casino software. You will notice that once you remove this item from your PC, and you run the casino software, you will have to manually enter your casino account number in order to log in.
If I remember correctly, there has been a thread about this either here or at CasinoMeister.

Have you queried this with the casino? What is the nature of the spyware - is it a tracker/data miner (Adaware tells you what it is) I use Adaware at least once or twice a week and regularly pick up this sort of generally harmless stuff which can accrue from surfing, too.
If it is more serious than that you need to complain about it to the casino or to Microgaming itself.

This doesn't make any sense.
Why would Gambling Fed be getting spam complaints about totally unrelated gambling sites? And how would a trojan on Gambling Fed's player's computers stop these places from sending mail?

GF have made a statement that this covert trojan in their download was an anti-spam measure designed to protect their customers from the sites it closed access to.
They have apologised and acknowledged that it was a dumb thing to do (not to mention unethical and an invasion of player privacy) I don't think it will just end there, however.
IT specialists on the other site have debunked and ridiculed the "spam measure" excuse as BS.
I expect this will have serious repercussions for the GF company and its leadership, not just in a business and maybe litigative sense but in respect of its membership of trade associations like the IGC and iGGBA too - it is inconceivable that those bodies will let this go unremarked.
Here's the GF statement:

5 days ago my wife installed Pinklady Casino (GFED sister casino),following night,
I felt like playing some black jack at www.theblackjacktable.com, I just couldn't access their page,
I thought they where having down time so called it for that night, Next day same thing happened so I contacted support ,
they told me that their casino was running fine and that were not doing maintenance of any kind to their site.
They advised me to clean up my cache, cookies and temporaries files which I did and guess what....
I was having the same problem.
Next day I called them again and one of the supervisors said that the problem may be was on the ISP end, funny thing is that at my office we use the same ISP and theblackjacktable.com site works fine from work.
So I took my home computer and plugged it at work - I still had problems accessing their site .
At this point I felt like throwing my home computer off the window,so tried again with my frien... | | Read Entire Entry |
