What do you mean when you say you are of legal age? If you are 21, you should be OK. Between 18 and 21 is more complicated. Some casinos say that you have to be at least 18 and of the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, which is not always a well-defined concept. If you live in the US, you can ote at 18, but only buy alcohol at 21, but if your state does not have legal gambling, there won't be a legal minimum age for gambling.
There was a case where a 19 year old was old enough to play as long as he lost, but when he won, the casino suddenly decided he was not of legal age to gamble.

He is not certain that he has the necessary documents. Sorting it out beforehand can prevent lots of problems later, even with a reputable casino.

Hello All,
I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to those who responded to my question. In response to 'The Original Mary's' skepticism, I am of legal age and financial standing in order to gamble. I understand that my pseudonym leads one to believe that I am young and rather fat, but I assure you that I am just fat.
Again, thanks for your help... work hard and make your dreams come true,

Welcome to the forum, Chubby the Kid. If you have concern about ID requirements, send in the documents before you deposit any money, and get the casino to confirm in writing that the documents are acceptable and you will be able to withdraw. Also make sure that you play at a reputable casino. Search these boards for the name of the casino, see if there are any complaints and whether they were satisfactorily resolved.
Boss Media casinos also send a PIN by mail to erify your address, so usually there is no need to send documents.

Most casinos require documents on cashout because they are protecting themselves against reversed charges.
Cryptologic casinos protect themselves by making you wait for a PIN in the mail, so they tend to require the fewest erification documents. Since you are of legal age (right?) and using your own financial instruments (not Mom's, right?) you should try Cryptologic sites first to see how you like online gambling.
There is no blanket rule across all online casinos, it aries by ownership group and/or software provider.
If you live in the US, you probably won't be able to use your credit card at make casino deposits, so you will have to set up a Neteller or other processor account. They, too, will require identification documents and banking information as well. If you don't have your own bank account, fugeddaboutit.

Hello All,
I have been studying Blackjack for some time now, but I am unfortunately still new to the world of online gambling. I have a question as to what are the ways that I can erify my identity at times that I am cashing out. I have a driver's license, birth certificate, and social security card. However, I am still living with my dad and have no utility bills of my own, which I have read is an important way of proving your identity. With the identifications that I do have, do you think that proving my identity will be a problem when I am trying to establish online accounts and when I cash out? Also, is this a common problem for some folks? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your time... work hard and make your dreams come true,
-Chubby the Kid
