There has been issues with 888/Casino-On-Net lately....some bad software. Check out: http://mb.winneronline.com/showthread.html?t=22690

There is a ery specific type of first messages by a new user.
They are written by newbies.
They contain a question like 'I went to casino XXX. Was I right? Is there anything to be worried about?'
These first messages naturally require replies with other casino names.
These first messages are regularly the last, too.
And I will hardly err a lot if I call this type of messages spam.

Once you clear through things the first time with a casino, five days is a while to wait. Most of the top ones, again, after you've done a withdrawal once before, are pretty quick.

"may pay you the slowest (5 days pending period, then you get paid)"

Five days is slow !?! For pmt. in full ?

I would be thrilled with five days on 75% of the hundred+ sites I've played.

Winning, but "a/r" always pretty large.

Paid in full every Tuesday: WorldWideVegas.com

Good luck.

Welcome to the board solarfx,

For any casino you're thinking about, just do a search on the fourms here and you should come up with plenty of info, or ask, as you did here.
You'll be fine with 888 - as others have stated. 32Red and Intercasino are also good ones to try.

Good luck and let us know how things are going.

I have been gambling online (nearly daily) for 5-years. Have tried about 120 different casino's and so far (touch wood) have not been ripped off once!

However, some places do have some dodgy T&C's so ALWAYS read & understand them before you join anywhere.

There are a lot of places that will give you grief even if you stick to the T&C's - most notably RTG & Playtech powered sites. The safest 'big ones' by far are Microgaming & Cryptologic (Wagerlogic), but also many smaller operators are fine - including 888 = one of the best!

If you're not sure of any T&C, or what software a casino uses, just post your question here & I'm sure someone will quickly help you!

Good luck!

I must admit I only played at 888.com once - and all was OK.

If they want to really raise their profile and get more regular players, why on earth dont they have a 24/48 hour cashin service????.

When you consider what is offered by Casino Extreme and InetBet and many Microgaming casinos in regards to 24-hr cashins, it really is not acceptable.

Differentiation in the marketplace is becoming more and more important nowadays and any advantage is a good advantage.

This is what I could tell you solarfx.

If you play at 888.com, you should totally feel safe and in good hands. They are 1 of the groups which is the most reliable around. They have been around since almost the beginning of the industry. Yes, I do agree that they may pay you the slowest (5 days pending period, then you get paid). But rest assured they are totally able to pay you.

If you really check their net worth in the FTSE (London Stock Exchange), they are actually worth about 800million pounds. I doubt that you could win that much over there to make them go bankrupt.

Other than 888.com, you can perhaps try out 32Red, InterCasino and if you like, iNetBet. (all using different softwares)

Hope that you win win and win more. Take care.

888.com was the first site i started to play at a while ago.

intercasino
inetbet
32redcasino

all good casinos with different software you can trust to get paid in 24 to 48 hours

888.com is the biggest also the slowest to get your money. But you will get paid.

if you want a well rounded gambling group give bodog.com a try

That was some ery important information. Thanks Steve. To be honest, this is the first I have heard about the 2% taxing. As if they aren't making enough money off of the licensing. As far as I know, they are the only jurisdiction charging $100k for a casino license.

I have to agree with Spearmaster too, charging 2% of wagers placed is just rediculous, and would cancel out nearly all of the house edge. Between that, paying winnings, revenue sharing, and standard business costs, there would be no way for these sites to stay in business. I think I would rather just relocate my servers to DR or Curacao before letting them take away all of my profits.

Here's an interesting example of total wagers. I go to my local casinos ery frequently. In fact, between all of them, I go about 3 or 4 times a week. I usually just go for an hour or two, relax and enjoy myself, and then go home. Last week I went to one with a slot club coupon for Play $20 get $10 free. I just started with $5 to play in slots...

Aha! Thanks, Steve.

I had heard about that proposed 2% tax. I did not associate that with regulation of the industry and the walkout. Under those circumstances I can understand why they chose to walkout.

2% on wagers is one heck of a lot of money - even with $100 I can turn $20,000 in wagers (I've done it before) - so a tax of $400 on turnover would not only kill the casinos, it would probably turn Antigua into the richest country in the world per capita!

OK, it my turn now. Although it seems that most in this forum understand the gaming industry, it does seem that you are lacking information about this WALKOUT.

It has server parts to it, and one is the monitoring of data, which wanted to be done NOT for regulation but for profit. The Free Trade Zone has been promising, and the laws of Antigua allows a TAX haven for the casinos. This was one reason Antigua became the main hub for online casinos. Antigua wishes to impose a 2% TAX on the casino based on wagering, and NOT profit, which would kill any casino, and yes I believe this is coming from the US. I don't think Antigua should bow to the US, but you never know.

I personally have looked at other jurisdictions, and believe that Antigua is the most favorable, and this NOT because of lack of regulation, but the enforcement of them. At least Antigua does require some of the same requirements of the Nevada Gambling Commission.

This does insure some fairness in the owners, not nece...

You are right on the ball there. However, because of a direct challenge I made on one of the manufacturers, they have offered to pay for the back-office audit if I can convince one of the big four to do that audit.

Thanks for you comments. You seem to have a pretty fair grasp of the industry yourself. Most people don't even know about the walk out situation unless they had an affiliated presence at the time. I did not know specificly which companies started or participated in the walkout. I was informed about it around a month ago, and was told that the majority of those present left. However, as it was explained to me, the specific regulations that caused it were in reference to particular pieces of hardware that would be added on to the gaming servers to monitor account activity. The specific purpose is to, as it was told to me, check for illegal money laundering, which goes back to my earlier post.

If I were a casino owner, I would not have any problems with them checking for such activities, but would be concerned over anyone monitoring the play of my customers, or even having access to who the clients are. An additional source told me that the US was pushing Antigua into adding the devices as a means...

In Antigua, a casino can BUY a gaming license from the government. The license has set guidelines for fairness of the software and the RNG, but these guidelines are not worth the paper they are written on. The government does no audits, and does not ...

That was a pretty impressive posting there, though I'm not sure I agree with it, at least not entirely. To begin with, I know of only two software providers that charge as high a revenue sharing with the casinos as what you are mentioning. Boss Media charges licensees 30% to 35%, and Grand Virtual charges 25% to 40%. I do not recall what the current rates for starnet or Microgaming are, but the majority of providers charge in the range of 15% to 20% revenue sharing.

As far as deliberately rigging software to cheat the player, I'm not so sure that is true on the scale that you mentioned, but I do not claim to know for sure. Unless I am misunderstanding your point, you are saying that only a handful of providers are honest, and that the majority are crooks. It has been my experience that the opposite is true; that the majority are honest, and only a handful are crooks. My biggest complaint would have to be Starnet. Though I have no particular complaints about any of their licensees, their compan...

Elisabeth, welcome to our humble abode. I've been gaming online for 3+ years and know the ins and outs of the industry. There are only a handfull of reputable casino software developers (turnkey providers). The ast majority of them can not be trusted to give YOU an HONEST game. This means the software has been delibrately programmed to cheat you. Most online casinos promise Vegas or AC odds, and then maliciously go back on thier word. They tune the odds on table games by manipulating the outcome of the cards and dice. The games are rigged to give the house a much larger than normal advantage. Since you have no way to prove this is happening, the casino is able to STEAL your money ery quickly. At the end of the month 30% to 50% of the casino's gross income goes right back into the pocket of the turnkey provider. The casino then takes approximately one half of its net income (the rest of the money it stole from you), and puts it into advertising and referral programs. More new players are sucked in, get r...

I generally prefer Microgaming casinos (sorry Steve), but this is largely a question of taste. Microgaming offers full pay jacks-or-better ideo poker, and I have had good success with their blackjack game

If you are just starting you can play risk free (for up to $50) at kingtutscasino.com, goldrushcasino.net, winningworlds.com, wildjack.com, firstwebcasino.com

BossMedia sites (see casino.com) have a blackjack game with even better odds, but the ideo poker is much worse. This link will get you an additional $25 if you sign up at Cowboy casino. http://www.cowboycasino.com/ offer/VV30Cnl.html

Slotland has a number of excellent games, which I have not played much (yet). In addition to slots, they have a full pay jacks-or-better ideo poker game (which can win a huge progressive jackpot if you bet $10/hand) and a triple play Joker's wild machine. They also have a weird triple-play blackjack game called Spacejack; I have not played it, but it should be a ery good blackjack game if ...

LMAO! No wonder my internal counter went through the roof!

Seriously, I can probably add a few more to my list as time goes by - but there are a great deal of them which offer no bonus isible on site but instead send emails. So I will need to do a bit more research there LOL.

I have personally tested every one in my list - every bonus was in my account within 24 hours, no exceptions that I can recall. Some were there practically when I opened the account!

I will have to go back to Lasseter's and try again at some point - I have had occasional computer trouble and have not been able to get Lasseter's to work on Windows 2000 - but then I couldn't get Orion working for a while also. But my early instincts say Lasseter's is a good casino - backed by a land-based operation as well so there's little doubt about their integrity.

Elisabeth, especially because you want to try some out with a small amount of money, I highly recommend you either check my list or read some of the...

hi elizabeth and welcome,

i sort of just started online too. this forum will help u a lot and i hope to see u around here. i have to agree with spearmaster, the download casinos are more efficient and smooth. ive tried almost all the microgaming casinos but with not so much luck, but i know others have done well. they definitely have the best promos and free money offers though. captain hooks is a good one, my favorite is lasseters which is sort of a download/java mix(not microgaming)...sometimes slow but i have done ery well there. their low limits are great for beginners.

also, u should go to spearmaster's site, got2bet.com because he has a cool section for "free money/bonuses" and honest reviews on casinos. winneronline.com also has some too. i think i've used all the bonuses on got2bet except like 3 or 4.

stay away from golden palace...hehe. = )

There are literally hundred of online casinos to play at, distinguished by the software they use.

I personally recommend sites which require downloaded software, because in my own humble (not!) opinion they are more reliable, better-looking and more enjoyable.

Winneronline here has a number of casinos that they recommend - and I have some at my site (click on the URL after my signature) - and of course if you spend some time looking through the thousands of messages posted here I am sure you will find a great number of good as well as bad casinos!

Whereever you go, whatever you like to play, good luck!

Hi everybody!
I am trying to get started with the online casinos, love blackjack and Video Poker. Any advice on a casino to try? I'm not planning on spending big money...less than 100$ stake to start with, then I'll see how I do. What do you all know about Slotland.com? Saw a review in Casino Player magazine, (also tried the free play on Romanpalacecasino.com...pretty easy, and no download needed). Thanks in advance, Elisabeth
