It only takes one dishonest employee, selling your identity to a buyer on the street to create a financial nightmare for you. Don't think in terms of honest/dishonset corporations. Think in terms of individual employees and whether or not giving a photocopy of a government issued ID and a copy of a paid bill to a person living in another country is a wise decision. I won't do it. Remember, these are not American companies. These are not Canadian companies. If your identity is stolen and your assets drained from your money accounts, it will be nearly imposiible to track down the guilty party and recover your losses.

I guess I didnt read it carefully. He actually purchased with a credit card? Thats just a step further than Id go with a casino. But if you use a credit card and Im a gaming site, Id have to get the info as a guard against chargebacks. UNder no circumstances shoudl you ever have to provide shit at a poker room using neteller. Its absurd in the highest.

I hit the notify mod button. I don't know if the OP can be edited [edit: AND the threads that quote the OP] but ajk is right, this dude's account info shouldn't be available for all to see. I've been reading some threads elsewhere by idiots with serious gambling problems trying to dodge bounced firepay transactions and all it would take is a little creative desperation to make a big mess with someone's credit card info.

they are in that grey gray grey area between rogue and shady. Just not worth dealing with them.

doesn't golden riviera poker = golden palace casino? The casino side just processed a cashout of mine. I did have to fax documents, but it was entirely worth it. Have they actually failed to pay anyone who provided valid documents?

I didnt notice the email address to send it to, its probably legit but I would still forward it to them and ask. Why would they email from a bonus email address? Maybe their emails were getting caught in spam filters but it doesnt hurt to make sure.

I would call their regular support number instead of emailing them. It might be legit and you might want to know why they are now asking for all this information. If you email them some bozo might respond and say to go ahead and send the information even if it is a fake request. For something important I always want to talk with someone live.

Well.. You'd probably want to erase your account # from your original post.

Why are you "very concerned"? I recieve e-mails from Citibank/Chase/Paypal all the time asking to verify my account on some shady website.

If you think it's bs, then don't send anything. The worst that can happen is that they suspend your account and then you'd have to send in the info and then they'll unlock it. Then you'd know that the e-mail's from them. Otherwise, you're not sending the info to the guy who sent the e-mail. They told you to send the info to support@goldenrivieracasino.com which is a valid e-mail address (on their website). Most "fake" e-mails tell you to respond to the e-mail or go to some shady website. Sometimes the casino and poker sides are linked and share CS. Or you can always e-mail/call the poker site to verify.

So. No need to be "very concerned". You have 3 options
1) don't send them anything.
2) send the info to support@...
