It's nice to hear someone enjoys playing blackjack. I just recently took a job as a blackjack dealer at a well known casino and I am having a blast. Though I enjoy dealing more than playing because I tend to win more dealing. lol

If you read the policies and rules of the blackjack games at all online casino's you will find out that after every single hand the "DECK" is reshuffled. This of course heavily favors the house therefore eliminating any potential edge for the player. It is impossible to win at blackjack online in the longrun of course any thing can happen short term.

I'd guess that they have algorithms, to replace the "eye in the sky", to detect counters. Or they just cut off your account/IP if you win more than a certain amount. Of course, then one could just change IPs.
Come to think of it... this could be lucrative. I better learn blackjack before all the online engines get smashed by counters and shut down.
If card-counting becomes a problem, I presume that online sites will start doing completely-random cards (infinite deck, essentially, instead of the 6-deck you see in a casino) with no correlation between one another, meaning that it's effectively impossible to count because every hand is from a brand-new "deck". As "Kevin" explains in Bringing Down the House, blackjack is beatable only because it contains a "memory" and players can manipulate knowledge about the deck to determine how they should bet. ("Negative" cards, 2-6, favor the dealer; "positive", 10-A, favor the player.) B... | | Read Entire Entry |

oh man, blackjack is definatly NOT my lucky game. I went to foxwoods about 3 weeks ago while i was in boston isiting my cousins. The board was packed, so i couldnt get right on a table for holdem right away, so while waiting for my spot to come open, i went to the blackjack tables. BAD IDEA! lol, i lost a ton of money. I came out great on the hold' em tables and all it did was barely put me up on the night. I wont do that again! lol next time i need to kill time, you will see me at the penny slots

Black Jack is definitely a lucky game for me. I won over $2500 this week at Casino Fortune. Sometimes I even played with as little as $5.00 a hand. I usually enjoy Video Poker or Slots but for now I'm lucky with the Black Jack.
