$2400 positive for the year. I played too much of the year above my level, but still turned a profit. I play mostly for fun, so I was happy with my effort. My game has improved, and I'm looking forward to a great 2007!

I agree. I try to play above the lowest levels of SNGs for precisely the right reason. I mean, I'm against the idea of raising your stakes just because you want to cut down on bad beats, but play at the $5-6 level is often so bad that I can feel my poker skills deteriorate before my eyes...

Probably even less than that. $200 seems like it would be plenty for $5 SnG's, IMO. I'm surprised you don't play a little higher. I've actually always done better at $10 and $20 than anything below. The play at $20 SnGs is, in general, bad, but it's (usually) not so bad that it throws me off. At $5, I can almost never put a player on a hand because they do the absolute dumbest crap.

I started playing semi pro at the start of this year due to being on disability unable to work. In live games I have made $6000 profit $2/$6 limit games and $700 in trnys. Online I have made around $2000 mostly in $.50/1.00 limit games.
Funny I lost about $1500 No and Dec 05 learning poker.

i was a losing player for the first like... 8 months, after continually reading & reading & reading & getting experience & looking at hand histories over the past year and a half & buying poker tracker, im up about 4.5k~ (that counts live play too)
but i withdrew most of it, hovering around 1.2k in my stars account
once i started treating my poker game more like a business instead of a hobby, my play really improved.

No, no, no...I'm not looking for Pounds Sterling or Euros...I want Metric Dollars. You know, dollars expressed in metric terms. Like Bob and Doug Mackenzie (sp?) in Great White North...if I recall the conversion from imperial units to metric was to double it and add 30. So like a six pack of American beer would be...six, double it is twelve...and add thirty is 42. So a six pack of American beer would be 42 metric beers. LOL

Hi AD & Misch,
Mischman is correct, K = 1000 but the provenance is that it comes from the latin Kilo, meaning 1000. it is used in good old imperial british english as well.
having said that $15k is ofcourse 15,000 US dollars, earnt mainly at stars mid limit cash games, and a few decent wins at Mtt's.
all thats well gone now and much more with the setup of our site, my gaming license (how funny's that, Im a licensed gamer, and havent touched the ps2 in ages!!) - but hopefully Itll be recouped sometime in the next year.... for the time being Im on a losing streak again, cant adjust to playing poker during the day instead of at night, and to having a limited BR - now when I lose 2 or 3 hundred in a sesh it really hurts, whereas before I looked at it as ariance. I was comfortably up (about $15k) until mid september, and since then I have eaten through all my profits and I was hovering at dead even until last night, when I did another €500 (about $700) in 10 minutes playing 2/4.....
Oh well, there is allways tonight!
(mind you, last year I made enough to pay for three holidays so I cant complain....)
