There is no way Tom McEvoy considers A-6 suited the third best late position hand. For the record let's agree on the three best starting hands from late postion.
1.) AA
2.) KK
3.)QQ or AK suited
Heck AQ is considered a trap hand, and it is a one gap
A-6 can't even make a straight. You can only draw to the flush.
if a 6 hits... your probably dead.
if an A hits your probably out kicked... and dead.

SSHE, by Sklansky and Malmuth is the authoritative work on limit Holdem for low stakes. Play ABC poker, strictly by this books guidelines, and you will be a winning player.

Hi All,
My first reply so be kind... another sklansky's book is called 'advanced tournament theory' which refers to the GAP concept...i find this pretty useful in mid to late tournies. Anyone else familiar with this concept?

Check out David Sklansky's book on low limit holdem ("Small Stakes Hold 'em" or something like that), I think it comes with the same type of chart you're looking at. And I doubt he'll sanction playing A-6 suited.... maybe limp from the SB into a big pot, but that's about the only time I can see playing it, and even then it is questionable.
No disrespect to Tom McEvoy, but he's no expert when it comes to technical limit strategy - I think you'll be much better off reading Sklansky's book.
