You need to determine if the player is a skilled stealer or a maniac. There is a ery big difference. Sit tight and eventually the maniac's money will be yours. If the guy is a tricky player, then you need to learn when to play back and start doing some stealing of your own. Even if you get caught now and again that will help you get action when you pick up a big hand.

They play a wide ariety of hands you can't get a good read on them and they know when I do have cards because I play tight and when I dont hit anything on the flop these guys raise...alot.
I get forced to fold of course and I know that when i do get AK or AQ I should trap them.
But what can you do about them when you don't hit a flop?
