Well...its time for styrofoam's advice... yay! It sure has been a while.

Fixed limit poker (especially ESPECIALLY low limit) is all about odds. Its a science....pure mathmatics. meaning this: Put your money in when the odds demand it. You're going to get paid off nearly every time. Play aggressively with your hands, bet and raise constantly.

The "winners" at the tables are probably not winners in the long scheme of things. If they come out +100 one day, -25 another -50 another and - 50 another, they are still -25, but you just see them up 100.

Often you're going to be paying 1 SB (small bet) to see the flop with 45o and you're going to totally be missed by the flop, you'll throw it away...and sometimes you'll call, only be to raised....sometimes in that situation, the odds say you should call the raise (depending on the number of callers in front of you) and you'll most likely throw that hand away too...now you've lost a BB just to see a flop that is almost certain...

When i played limit poker years ago, i played a lot looser than i play No-Limit, and i think most players do, so they can out draw you, i think you have to gamble more in limit, take more chances, >> buck

So let them play their suited connectors and A-x suited and whatever else they play. Be sure to raise when you have strong hands preflop and be sure not to offer them massive implied odds when you have hands like AA or KK and they river their straight or flush.

Your job is not to win the most pots, but to win as much as possible on your good hands and lose as little as possible on your poor ones.

I don't think limit is a good game to play because you can't dictate pot odds. People always have the odds to chase. I haven't played big money limit games. I heard/read that there are fewer players in each hand at those levels, and less odds to chase.

Play tighter than normal. And yes, I see alot of Ax, any two suited cards, etc. But in my opinion it isn't worth it to play those cards because Limit is a game of pot odds rather than implied odds.

You'll also see alot of gutshot straight chasers. That aggrevates me the most. Because it seems to happen alot, lol.

If you really want to grind it out try playing the 10 player tables with the smallest pot sizes. This would indicate a tighter table and less donks.

Hi guys.

I have started to play Fixed limit holdem.

I was told to play tighter than I would normaly. I have been doing that, but I am constantly sitting watching guys play any 2 connectors, any 2 suited cards, any Ace. They are the guys who are winning at the table. I`m I missing something guys?

I am playing 10 seater tables at ladbrokes, titan and 9 at Pokerstars. I`m playing in $0.50/ 1.00 limits.

Any thoughts guys???
