As long as your consistently turning out a profit I wouldn't worry too much about placing first or second because by the time you get down to the final 3 SnG's are often a crapshoot anyway.
All I would say is, try mixing your play up a bit early on. We all go card dead. Hell I've been card dead for MASSIVE stretches in the past. I am talking being card dead for like 10 tournies. So mixing it up is definately something you should think about.

Tight early and getting increasingly more aggressive later (esp on the bubble) is pretty much the accepted 'best' style for STTs.
The reason for this is that people generally don't play aggressive or loose enough in the later stages, and you can keep hammering at them without much resistance. The blinds ob hop up to a much bigger size in the later stages, and are worth a much bigger percent of your stack then in the early stages which means that stealing is not only more important, but essential if you want any chance of winning.
Like you said, your sample size is really too small to make any assumptions (so I won't).
My take on turbos if you're interested; I've changed little things since writing this but it's pretty much how I play the $16 turbos on stars.

This is following on Chucks thread. I understand the point. Here is my experience. I am looking for feedback. I recognise that its a ery small sample.
I have played 20 x $10 1Speed SNGs ( 10 Player ) since begining of may. I played the first 3 on there own and now tend to multitable an average of 3 tables at the same time on Party Poker.
This is how I have done
First: 3 Times ($150)
Second: 4 Times ($120)
Third: 4 Times ($80)
4th/5h 7 Times
Early bath: 2 Times
Total Stake = $220
Total return = $350
Total Profit = $130
Heres my Strategy. We start with 2000 chips and the blinds go up every 5 mins. For the first 15 Mins (20/40, 30/60 & 50/100) I play ery tight. I only play teir 1 and two hands. I raise circa 6xbb if I enter a pot. I find this eleminates small pp's and SC's and I know where I stand. I check my BB or squeeze it.
This means that by the time we get to 100/200 I have either Bust/Doubled up or have about 1750 ... | | Read Entire Entry |
