I think all together I've broke even, I mean I've lost what I've bought in with but also won some of the pot in 1st then turn around and play more so, I can't say I've lost a ton. Tho I'am sure I'll come to that point. Online I've lost a bit but I try to avoid playing with money online. Computers don't seem to like me too much.

We have a daily $80/$160 limit game here. I can afford the swings, but that was a bad week in that game At only a little over 2 and 1/2 racks down.

Nothing can compensate losing it all....
I went to Atlantic city this past weekend, and I checked out a couple casinos that I neglected the last time I went to play. however, I felt most comfortable with the same choice that I made when I made my last trip to New Jersey, this past September. I went to Tropicana, and played in several different ring games, including $2/4 limit holdem, and $1/2 no... | | Read Entire Entry |

My neighbor has lost track of his losses. He has been putting $50 at a time on PokerStars, thinking that is saving him money. However, each time I talk to him he is telling me about the last few times he put $50 more on there! Best advice, be careful, don't play it if you can't afford it, and keep track of how much you deposit!

Pokeroffice has an outs calculator included... I don't know about any others... Just download pokeroffice then sign up for Empirepoker or PartyPoker and play with the FAKE MONEY... it will still get you experience with the calculator and you'll start to realize how to calculate outs.... plus it will be FREE

Ice, How did you lose money on double or nothing after winning the superbowl bet? You must have been drunk, cause you should be even.

I went to the site and found a download for a tracker program, but couldn't find a calculator. Did I miss it somehwere? Help! 'Cuz I would REALLY like to have somethng that would help me understand about outs and odds and that stuff.
Thanks so much!

I lost a 9000$ pot last year. I bet 4500$ with a friend that the Patriots would win the Superbowl, and I won the bet. Then he asked me to play heads-up hold 'em double or nothing, and I, half-drunk, said yes. Eventually we were right back where we started, 50 chips each. I got KcKh and went all-in preflop. He called with Ac6s. Flop came 9c5c3c, turn Ks, river 8c. Rivered his flush (and mine), lost K-high flush s Ace-high flush for 9000$, making me owe him $4500.

Yea I agree with that I don't see too much point in playing for such little money, I play for a bit of money to make it more fun and exciting but at the same time not too much because there is a greater risk of losing all your money and in a small amount of time

I played my first tourny today, and I see the wisdom in your words! Thanks for this suggestion! I'm going to try managing my money better.

Knox, thank you for your advice. I get what you're saying... and I admit I have a tendancy to brood, lol ... I tell myself I'm thinking about how to IMPROVE on what happened by going over it, but then I go over it again... and again... and then I get upset with myself and... bah! I'm on tilt. I am still ahead at a certain site. However, last week I lost $60 over a short period of time. Not a lot, BUT, I lost to 2 jerks who were in collusion. One, as of yesterday, has been removed from site.

I have been playin for close to a year and have made about a thousand dollars worth of deposits combining all sights i have played at. i dont do too bad in the games , but im a gambler , and being that i go for the throat when i feel like i am lucky and that rarely turns out good. I manage to make aprofit that really doesnt mean much because it rarely gets withdrawn from account. Most of the winnings i put right back in the following sitting...whether its next day next week or next month. i put all winnings back plus on top of them i re-deposit from anger and look for revenge..lol. i need to learn self control ,..I KNOW WITHOUT IT I WILL HATE POKER IN THE LONG RUN. but for now im lovin it.

I've only been playing for about about 6 weeks. It took me a month to lose $70.00 at low limit hold'em tables online. But here's the thing that's bugging me... I started right away researching and trying to tighten up and improve my game... and now I lose faster than ever before! I've already lost another $10.00 (in less than a week) on top of the original $70.00 :-(
Things I've noticed:
1. I am much tighter and don't play all that many hands. I used to think any two cards can win. But not so anymore. I tracked my wins s. losses doing that and was SHOCKED!
2. I am beginning to understand why some more experienced players hate playing with "fish"... Fish chase cards all the way to the river with NOTHING to start with, and end up getting their miracle card. Anyone else would have folded long before or never even played a poor starting hand. GRRRRRRR!!!!
3. But my biggest leak is not paying close enough attention to what the other players MIGHT have. I'm really bad about this... | | Read Entire Entry |
