Any money to that worthless Alliance is just being wasted on the idiots at the top of the Orginization who give themselves a salary, go sit at the bar, then come back and tell us how nesseccary they are and hard work their doing. Sounds like the Union I belong to. | | Static Link |

I would do whatever I could for the next few monthes to get as close to 10K as possible and then when the day of exodus comes we'll have enough of a bankroll to find some high stakes live cash games elsewherew........
at lease we won't have to worry about Party fish and the PokerRoom maniacs killing us anymore. | | Static Link |

A US Rep. (who has a PhD and is a former professor) once told me that only ~20% of the congressmen understand the issues they are voting on.
With all due respect (thats questionable cause we are talking about politicians)

they do one of two things
they attach things like this and do it so late in the game no one notices
OR
they attach it to a bill like this one that HAS to pass..... IE some security or military need at the moment
See the congress critters like their cushy jobs and great benifits... so they cant go home when 99% of their constituants think (rightly or wrongly) they voted against some popular bill regardless what the reasoning is.

LIFE is a gamble.
I DO own my own business.
I have A LOT of my blood sweat and tears in it.
It keeps me surviving.
the Govt is even more involved in that part of my life.
BUSINESS IS 100% Gambling
Heres another ananology for you
WTF is the Stock market?
IF its a sure thing someone tell me.
This is VERY VERY VERY simple.
This was some B&M casinos IMO. thinking they are losing to online gaming
I dont see any other connection UNLESS
there is simply so much money flowing out of the US right now (from partys statement they make about 750 MILLION dollars a yr and 600 of it comes from the US I dont really think a couple a 10 billion would be a problem though because if 80% is from the US then most of that money is comming back at some point. Simply the law of averages.
I cant see anything but the B&M guys throwing a fit.

I'm sorry, where did I say that? Right, I didn't. Couldn't be further from the truth.
I was simply drawing an analogy to show how stupid this bill is. They want to ban poker/gambling because you are investing money on events that cannot be seen. However, if you collect the proper data and use it wisely, you can make a long run profit (in poker anyway). The same goes for business start ups. They will have some short term ups and downs, but if handled properly, they will make a profit. | | Static Link |

True in some respects. But in that case, this bill would make it illegal for people to start up online businesses. Think about it... investing a large sum of money based on a collection of data that says in the long run, you'll make money. In fact, many invest the money into their business, AND LOSE IT. The business doesn't pay off. The took a CHANCE, and it failed. Sounds like gambling to me. Just they're not using cards. | | Static Link |

From Webster's: "to play or game for money or other stake; to hazard; wager."
Fine, then its a skill game. With all the shit going on, you wanna sit here and argue with me about verbage.
Good, Poker is gambling. To me, gambling is when in the longrun I have no chance for better or worse to make gains by playing continuoulsy. When I play poker, over the long haul I am making money, hence to me its not a gamble. I can count on that money.
If it was roulette, craps that is gambling to me. When I am betting on myself, its not a gamble, I know what I am getting into.
Pulls out Websters, give me a fucking break sir.

I guess its ok, if you own a fucking pony but if you play poker, then they do not give a fuck about you! I hope they all suffer great misfortune, because they do nothing for me.
The funny thing is, Poker isnt even gambling to begin with, its a skill game.
