I think you should play. A $100.00 buy in isn't bad, plus you said it is for charity. You can help people out and get live tournament experience at the same time. Good luck if you decide to play.

If the $100 is really for charity then it should be tax deductable so you can't lose either way. Consider if you set out to play and have fun and not make a profit it will be more enjoyable. You would easily pay $100 for a nice dinner or tickets to a show and they are not even for charity. Go play and have fun. Consider it entertainment!

I'm deciding whether I should participate in this hold em tournament(not online) . It's for charity and 1st place is $5,000. There is also money for the other nine placers. 150 players will be there. The cost to play is $100. It seems like a lot of money to start but the prizes are tempting. What do you think?
