OK Decided to rewrite my post. You have "Blinds" and you have "table stakes" The blinds are supposed to be half of the stated tables stakes for example: a 100/200 table will have blinds of SB=50 and BB=100. Preflop betting your raise must be at least the BIG BLIND. In the example given at the beginning of the thread your raise must be TO at least 300 or a minimum raise of 100, anything above is acceptable. Same rules aplly on the flop. When the turn is dealt the minimum bets double which takes them upto the table stakes. Hope that helps

As far as i know your raise HAS to be double the last raise, so if its raised to 300 you cant make it 500 it has to be 600 or more (n/l). (unless your all-in)

Now heres where it gets interesting, if you open the betting first with a raise to 300, and a player raises to 599 because he/she is all in, the betting round does not re-open. Frustrating when you pick up aces utg and raise only for utg+1 to raise all-in for less that the min, and get 2-3 callers, you cannot re-reraise, because the betting wasnt re-opened.

Get it ? It took me a little while to realise this one as well.

The default "button" is usually double the last raise; however, most sites let you do whatever you want...

some sites i play on only allow you to bet in multiples of the big blind however its right to be able to bet anything after you have seen the big blind.

Let's say your in the last position to bet. The player on your right raises the big blind ($100) to $200. Do I have to double the $200 if I want to raise or can I raise it to anything above $200?
